Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women

August 26, 2010 by Jaren

Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women

Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women (Star Trek) (Paperback)

The Legendary Men Of Romance — Casanova, Don Juan, James Bond, move over because only one man can teach us how get every woman we want, even if it’s anywhere on the planet or the whole freaking universe.

“one man can boast that his seductive powers take him boldly where no man has gone before: James T. Kirk.”

Captain Kirk’s status as an interstellar stud is proven by his ability to seduce any woman, in any situation, in any part of the galaxy. From high-society princesses to unbalanced Orion slave girls, from gender-switching shape-shifters to emotion-deprived androids — they all swoon, acquiesce, and malfunction from just one kiss.

Geeky boys and fan boys will definitely enjoy this stellar find as we prepare ourselves to be educated to be the geeky interstellar stud muffin that we are.

Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women is the first book to answer this question by probing deeply into Kirk’s character, charisma, and seductive techniques, making it possible for any man to model himself after the Casanova of the Cosmos. It is also the only warp-powered romance manual written with enough wit, charm, and humor to help the female of the species make first contact.

Geek Movie Selections

March 26, 2008 by Jaren

This is my “geek” movie selections although not really rated by who’s the best or not, so there’s no ranking I just want to watch them and here it is:

Pirates of Silicon Valley
It tells the tale of the start of Microsoft and Apple and has a brilliant cast who do a great job of portraying their characters. Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs.

Short Circuit
Number 5 is alive! or Johnny 5 as one of 5 in a group of experimental robots in a lab then which was accidentally electrocuted, which messes up his programming becomes intelligent, and escapes.

Hackers
Although it’s not a Hardcore geek film and doesn’t even give a decent representation of “hackers” but nonetheless it comes close to giving a glimpse of the hacker cyber punk genre, and Angelina Jolie as Kate Libby aka Acid Burn is hot.

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
This Star Trek movie is my favorite which stars the original Captain Kirk! The story revolves around a midlife crisis that is interrupted by the return of an old enemy looking for revenge and a potentially destructive device.

WarGames
A young man finds a back door into a military central computer in which reality is confused with game-playing, possibly starting World War III. This film is a hilarious look back at early home computers. It was so popular it was nominated for 3 oscars!

Planet of the Apes
The Original Planet of the Apes not the one Mark Wahlberg starred in (it totally sucked). “Glory be the Bomb and to the Holy Fallout!”

Alien and Aliens
Aliens, androids, alien planets, Sigourney Weaver as Ripley doing her usual Alien butt kicking and her Alien queen Trash talking.

Akira
A secret military project endangers Neo-Tokyo when it turns a biker gang member into a rampaging psionic psychopath that only two kids and a group of psionics can stop.

Pi
By Darren Aronofsky “A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature”

Office Space

A cult success. “Peter Gibbons, thanks to a hypnotic suggestion, decides not to go to work at the same time his company is laying people off. When layoffs affect his two best friends, they conspire to plant a virus that will embezzle money from the company into their account.” This is a very good film plus lots of lines to quote!

The Original Star Wars Trilogy
The 3 most recent Star Wars Films sucks everyone knows it. But these films are a Masterpiece. Need I say more?

The Matrix
I only love the the first movie of the trilogy is the best and is hailed as one of the best geek movie ever.

Spaceballs
Planet Spaceball’s President Skroob sends Lord Dark Helmet to steal Planet Druidia’s abundant supply of air to replenish their own, and only Lone Starr can stop them. Simply hilarious.

Bladerunner
Set in the futuristic Rain City vision of Los Angeles. With a robot assassin Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) and police investigator Deckard (Harrison Ford). Well, If Indiana Jones is there it surely kick ass!

2001: A Space Odyssey
Stanley Kubrick’s memorable film comes complete with astronaut meals, phone cards, and a frightening depth of artificial intelligence,

Conan the Barbarian
“Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women!” That’s the philosophy of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Teutonic warrior. Who has never dreamed of becoming Conan the Barbarian, all of my friends wanted to be a barbarian when they grow up, this movie is the credit for it.

Ghost in the Shell
This is a very weird interpretation of future Asia, humans enhance themselves with cyborg parts and where data can take on a life of its own, and the line that separates man from machines are starting blur away.

Back to the Future trilogy
I love this movie series, with Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as they struggle to keep the space-time continuum intact.

The Terminator/Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Robots, the apocalyptic future and Arnold a good mix ain’t it

Mad Max trilogy
Rogue cop Max, a member of the police force guarding the roads from raging bikers as the world falls apart. Then Max’s wife dies, Max goes mad and becomes an avenging angel in Mad Max, only to recover his humanity by saving a post-apocalyptic western community in The Road Warrior.

On Watching Horror Movies

March 24, 2008 by Jaren

For some time I have been paying more attention to watching horror / suspense movies rather than my usual movie line ups. I got so caught in this whole horror movie watching thing. That I even start to dream that I’m inside one. So here’s My list on why I liked watching horror movies.

  1. Every time the bad guy steps into the scene or is lurking somewhere in the scene. The bad guy’s theme song is played or a sort of weird, eerie music to maximize the horror effect.
  2. The Characters or the “good guys” tend to split up at the wrong time, it’s dumb, I know and we know that being alone is probably the most dumbest thing to do especially when you know that you are either being watched of followed and that would get a first class ticket to be killed. Cliche move…
  3. Things always go wrong at the most critical time, like a door won’t open or the car won’t start, or the lights go off when you definitely need it and even sometimes the shower spews up blood or something. Almost all horror movies has this. I don;t know why but this the reason for the screams as you’re desperately trying to get away but can’t because the stupid door is jammed. Cliche, I know.
  4. The villian or bad guys never die, as they always come back for some reason, think Jason Vorhees, Freddie Krueger, Mike Myers. It can be pretty annoying because sooner or later the sequels would just keep getting cornier and cornier. It was great the first 3-4 movies but when it comes to 10 times would you think it would still be that scary good?

But there are still good horror movies that are original and don’t have to use cliches, but that ‘s the fun part in watching horror movies over and over again, once you get over the fact that it’s not scary start looking for something hilarious on that movie. Trust me you will find them.

Got any ideas or discoveries. Leave me a comment I’ll be glad to add it on the list

Zombies : Info and What to do

February 29, 2008 by Jaren

Now this must be the fault of watching to many zombie movies while working, as right now I got this “trip” to look for info and what to do in case of a zombie infestation and such.

Now While I was looking for some Info on that I found out The Top 10 Zombie Movies from IGN Which is quite informative to expand my Zombie movies DVD collection and to top it off, I found a Zombie Survival & Defense wiki and I found it really entertaining, because on that site I can learn the basics on how to survive, even the skill I need in order to survive a Zombie Infestation.

Also the have basic info on Zombie Science a 411 on how they move, hunt, survive over time, etc.
Want to be Properly equipped you need Weapons and Gear and don’t forget Protective Clothing. It’s A must.

So have Fun, and be informed… after all the Zombie Infestation might happen with all the experimentations Scientists are doing right now. Better informed than not at all.

Batman : Gotham Knight

February 28, 2008 by Jaren

Batman : Gotham Knight gets an official release date on July 8, 2008, the new animation feature film from Warner Bros. and gives us a sneek peak of what happens between Batman Begins and Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight which opens on the theaters on the 18th of July, now supposedly this animation feature film will be a sort of the “animatrix” for the Batman movies kinda like what the real Animatrix did for The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

Watch out for it, because I’m sure as hell I’m gonna buy it when it comes out, and maybe contemplating if I should get the Blu-ray Hi-Def Edition, which I know would be so much better.

Batman : Gotham Knight

Batman: Gotham Knight explores events that happened between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, which opens on July 18th. The creators of the new Batman film commissioned three anime studios, Production I.G., Studio 4C, and Madhouse and five noted anime directors (Shojiro Nishimi, Futoshi Higashide, Hiroshi Morioka, Yasuhiro Aoki and Toshiyuki Kubooka) to create a series of six interrelated Batman adventures based on stories by Josh Olson (A History of Violence), David Goyer (Batman Begins), Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series), Greg Rucka (Whiteout), Jordan Goldberg (producer, The Dark Knight) and Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets).

Batman: Gotham Knight will be released just ten days before Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight debuts in theaters on July 18th. The single-disc version of Batman: Gotham Knight will have an MSRP of $24.98, while the two-disc Special Edition will go for $29.98 and will include lots of extra features that will also be included in the Blu-ray hi-def edition (MSRP $34.99). The single disc edition will include a documentary on Batman villains as well as commentaries from the filmmakers and a preview of the Wonder Woman direct-to-DVD animated feature. The two-disc edition also includes a documentary on the life and works of Batman creator Bob Kane and a selection of director Bruce Timm’s favorite episodes from Batman: The Animated Series.
