I was looking around the web for geek oriented clothing (you know, the kind that let’s you display your geekdom) and I happened across this Byte Me t-shirt. Now, this shirt kicks ass for several reasons.
First of all, it’s got the old-school, squared-off graphic, an ode to those of us who used to play games even before PacMan came out. But the really cool thing about this shirt is that it’s got attitude. Think about it. While paying homage to geekdom, it does so with a grizzly bite (pun intended).
This should be the anthem shirt for those of us who hate the pansy geek image that pervades society but still loves his computer and video games. Geek pride, I guess you could say.
The shirt company that carries Byte Me also has another cool shirt with a picture of a VCR that says “Don’t Worry, I Know VCR” – an ode to all of us who have to show our parents and grandparents how to change the input setting on their TVs.
Hey, let’s try this: post links to all the interesting Geek/Gadget Swag that you can find on the internet and let’s make this a one stop shop for finding Geek clothing (with some byte).

I am in the middle of the moving process, and so everything is packed up. Unfortunately, this means my Xbox 360 is currently packed away, and will be until sometime early in October. Of course the different gaming conferences are starting now across the oceans, and Microsoft is telling us they are going to have great new content available during those conferences, which of course my Xbox won’t be taking part in.
It is times like this that I wish I could have a buddy download them and put the demos I want on a memory card and transfer them over. I know there are various hacks that might allow such a demo transfer, but there should be some simple way for people to share demos between each other. Get on that, would you Microsoft? I don’t want to miss any of the great demo’s that game publishers are putting out. This would also be advantageous for those that don’t have a high speed Internet connection, but know someone that does, as they could still get all the demos, without having to subscribe to the Official Xbox Magazine, and wait forever to get the demo that everyone has playing for months.

Microsoft is creating bundles to draw the attention away from the other consoles being launched this holiday season. The UK is not left out either, as they get what appears to be a really reasonable bundel for £300, starting this friday.
It includes:
At first I am a little jealous as I bought my Xbox 360 almost right away during launch time, but then I remember the little remote I got with my Xbox 360, so take that all you bundle people!

Call of Duty 2 was one of the first games I tried out on the Xbox 360, and so it is not surprise to me that they have now sold ovr a million copies for the Xbox 360 in the USA alone.
No doubt Activision is happy to have it called the best FPS that the Xbox 360 has.
There is a free demo of the game in the marketplace, and it is pretty enjoyable, though relatively simple. Check it out, and you will probably want to be part of the second million to buy the game.

3-D Realms let everyone know today that Prey has an update in development that will be free of charge.
The new content will allow six new characters and a number of new maps. Free content is good and I am glad to see more and more games going that route to keep people interested in their games.
Currently there is no word on when this free content will be out, but we recommend not holding your breath, as it could be any time between now and the holidays.

Microsoft have released the list of games that will be featured at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
The games are as follows:
No Halo 3 yet, but that is not too surprising. Some interesting Japanese titles on there as well. Hopefully this will help grow the Microsoft Xbox 360 appeal in Asia.

It looks like not all patches are friendly fixes, as one of the changes for The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II has created some anger from its players.
Previously, when you got disconnected from a multiplayer game you did not get a loss attributed to your stats resulting in many players disconnecting when they were losing to stop any negative effects on their stats. EA now gives the loss to the player with the higher disconnect percentage.
So even if you are winning and the other person disconnects, you may be given the loss if you have a bad internet connection that leads to dropped games.
The other “fixes” listed include:
I love gadgets, especially ones that have a use. However, I have some that are, well, in the words of Dominic Diamond: completely pants. Lets not mention the perpetually huffy phone sim reader, or alarm that projects the time on the ceiling. I also hate having to buy batteries. It strikes me as odd that something unerringly odd happens to the Sky TV remote every time almost dead batteries are left in, but never mind. Anyway, here are some things I do like:
5) Microwave
Before, during and after the completion of my degree I have loved the microwave. I love how you can put coffee in it to heat up if you have some spare in the percolator, I love the way in which it makes you pizza (albeit soggy pizza) in only 2 minutes and it does the best scrambled egg. For my money, a kitchen essential.
4) Coffee Machine
I love my hot drinks of tea, hot chocolate and so on. However, nothing beats a good cup of coffee. Recently, I’ve been sampling the varied delights of African roast from various regions and it is magnificent. Therefore, I would rather not do without my coffee machine given that it is quick, easy to use and reliable. It also ensures I don’t have gritty bits in the brew.
3) Mobile
Ah, the trusty mobile, hated by some, loved by others. For me, the whole being able to contact anyone at any given time is not the benefit, however having the time, date and personal organiser is. My new phone, the LG Chocolate Black goes one step further – it does video and has a 1.3 megapixel camera. Yeah ok not the best by today’s standards but still pretty damn good. I love taking pictures on the move and so it is ideal. I’m a bit of a text fiend too, shame this particular mobile isn’t too good for that but it’s still on the list.
2) Xbox
Out of all of the current gen consoles (Xbox, Cube and PS2) I have most games for my Xbox. I think it was sadly overlooked, and it could have been much greater with some more games. The graphics were and are still very good, and games such as Psychonauts, Far Cry Instincts, Halo 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 made it a particular favourite of mine. In fact, I’m fighting the urge to start it up now just thinking about the fun I’ve had with it.
1) Laptop
I couldn’t put anything other than my laptop at number one. Not only is it a wonderfully powerful HD screened 17-inch monster but also it has Harmon Kardon speakers and a great touchpad. More importantly, it’s the function that is key, not the style. I use my laptop for almost everything – work, play, web browsing, online gaming, editing my music and more.
It is one of the things I find quite interesting when listening in on a conversation at a computer hardware store – what more does it do? Well it doesn’t really should be the response, rather than half-baked garbled nonsense about processors. Software is the key, and of course what exactly you want to use the machine for. That’s why my laptop is number one in my list. It is used for just about everything except cooking, cleaning and changing lightbulbs. Mr Blonde is a mainstay of my gadget(ary) arsenal and I hope it stays that way for a while yet. Long live the laptop!
