Quake 4 Cheats

September 14, 2010 by David

Cheat code warning
Do not use cheat codes if you want to get the Quake 4 Achievements. Once a cheat code is active the game will disable all Achievements. If you have this problem on your saved game files, you must delete all of your current save files for the game and start again.

Refill Ammo
During gameplay, press Back to enter the objectives window, and then enter the following code to unlock the corresponding cheat: Press B, A, X, Y, Left, Right, Left.

If you entered the code correctly, the cheat will take immediate effect.

Invincibility
While playing a game, press Back to display the objectives window, then quickly press Down, Up, Down(2), Up, Right, Left, Right, Y, X(2), A. Your health will still decrease, but will never reach zero.

Get all
While playing a game, press Back to display the objectives window, then quickly press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.

Full health
While playing a game, press Back to display the objectives window, then quickly press B, A, B, A, Up(2), Down, X.

Let me know if any of these cheats do not work. Also, if I am missing any cheats, please contact me and let me know.

The Top 10 Worst In-game Quotes

June 30, 2010 by David

I know this is not Xbox 360 related, but it really shows off the culture of gaming and how many badly translated games there used to be. I wonder if in this generation of gaming you’d see more than one or two games with such glaring errors.

Here is the list from IGN:
1. “All your base are belong to us.” – Zero Wing
2. “I am Error.” – Zelda II: The Adventures of Link
3. “Jill, why don’t you, the master of unlocking, take this lock pick.” – Resident Evil
4. “You were doomed as soon as you lost the ability to love.” – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
5. “Yo gangsta! Get ready to gang bang!” – Bust-a-Groove
6. “I feel asleep.” – Metal Gear
7. “You can’t give it up! Triumph or die!” – Street Fighter Alpha 3
8. The DK Rap – Donkey Kong 64, Super Smash Bros Melee
9. “A Winner is You!” – Pro Wrestling
10. “Shine Get!” – Super Mario Sunshine

10 Franchises that Need to Return

June 28, 2010 by David

A cool list from Racketboy.com which talks about ‘Classic Franchises That Actually NEED a Resurrection’…

They include:

  • Darkstalkers
  • Shining Force
  • Battletoads
  • Strider
  • Killer Instinct
  • Vectorman
  • Starcraft
  • System Shock
  • Road Rash
  • PowerStone

I would love to see a new Battletoads, Killer Instinct, Starcraft and System Shock game. Those alone would make me break out my wallet, and at $50 a piece, that is $200 right there.

Make an iPod dock for your Xbox 360

June 21, 2010 by David

Engadget comes back with their second part to making an iPod dock where the Xbox 360 hard drive used to go.

There are many ways this project could be modified. We took an approach that would let us return the box almost to stock condition if needed, but a more permanent mod could be soldering the hard drive connection on the inside of the case instead of using the external connector. With the outside connector gone you could route the dock’s USB cable inside the case. We still need to cut down our three foot dock cable since it only has to be three inches long to reach the port on the back of the box.

Xbox Live Video

November 8, 2006 by David

There is so much news regarding Microsoft’s new Xbox Live Video service that is due out on November 22nd, it is rediculous, and a bit hard to seperate the fact from the fiction. Here are some details given out by popular news sources. Don’t give any of them too much weight. Try to hold off on getting too excited until the service is launched and we have all had a chance to try it out.

Engadget has a great point by point list on everything that’s going on with the upcoming service:

  • Microsoft has not yet disclosed pricing for downloads, but it will be in Microsoft points.
  • Movies will be “rental” only, TV for “purchase” only.
  • Neither TV nor movies are streamed; they are only downloaded, although you can stream short preview clips from the Live interface.
  • You can only download content to your Xbox 360 drive — not to an external drive.
  • Your “purchased” TV programs can be downloaded an infinite amount of times to an infinite amount of consoles; you may also play them back on friends’ 360s with your removable drive.
  • Deleted TV shows can be re-downloaded later; HDTV shows can be re-downloaded in either HDTV or SD.
  • Movies can be watched an unlimited number of times the first 24 hours. Plays after that period will cost the same as the initial download, although the movie data isn’t necessarily deleted. You can keep the movie data on your drive up to 14 days without re-downloading it.
  • An average HD movie download should be between 4-5GB, and a two hour SD movie would be 1.6GB.
  • An average 1 hour (44 min) HDTV download should be about 2.2GB, and an average 1/2 hour (22 min) HDTV download should be about 1GB. A 1 hour SDTV download should be about 600MB, and a 1/2 hour SDTV download should be about 300MB.
