Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve for All Your Apple Gadgets

July 19, 2011 by Noemi

Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve Red Front

How many Apple gadgets do you have in your possession? The chances are that, if you are an Apple head, you would have a Mac (MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air – it doesn’t matter which one), an iPad, an iPod, and an iPhone. Or at least a couple of those items.

If that’s you, then you would also know how much of a pain it can be to lug around all those gadgets. Of course, there is the option of leaving most of them behind, but there are instances when you do need to have them with you. There are a lot of bags you can buy for all sorts of gadgets, but so far, there does not seem to be a lot which are especially made to handle the variety of Apple gadgets in one carrier.

Enter the Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve. While it is called a sleeve, as far as I can see, it practically functions as a bag as well. You have the option of using the hand strap, of if you prefer to make better use of your shoulders, the Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve has an adjustable shoulder strap as well.

What is great about the Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve is the fact that is meant to be carry and protect a MacBook or a MacBook Pro, plus an iPad. You can also add your iPhone and/or iPod into the mix. The edge this bag has is that the gadgets will fit perfectly. It’s not too small, neither is it too large.

As you can see, the compartments are enough to carry most – if not all – of your Apple gadgets. Unless you have two or three of each Apple gadget in the market, this should be more than enough!

Another cool thing is that the Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve comes with GRID-ITTM, a rubberized woven elastic mesh that allows you to organize your gadgets inside the compartments. No need to worry about your iPhone and iPods rattling around. You can even add other digital devices – GRID-ITTM is fully configurable.

There is a downside to the Cocoon CLS456 Sleeve, though. It only fits the 13-inch laptops. If you have something bigger than that, then you just have to look elsewhere for the perfect bag. As for me, I am seriously considering getting one. For $69.99, it is a good buy.

BubbleScope produces 360-degree photos

June 15, 2011 by Rogue

Cameras have invaded gadgets in a big way. Practically all the gadgets that have been coming out in the last few years have a camera wedged in there somewhere. At this point, any device that doesn’t have a camera is considered an “incomplete” product. Just look at the first iPad and the flak it got for not having a camera when it was released. [Read more…]

Fling Mini Joystick for touch screens

June 9, 2011 by Rogue

Touch screens are now considered almost de rigeur for any device that needs some kind of graphic interface. It’s the new Bluetooth! But even though touch screens have introduced tactile articulation for control and in many cases it is really the best way to manipulate things on screen, there are some things where an actual button would still be appreciated. Universal Charger to Be Truly Universal

May 11, 2011 by Noemi

How many gadgets do you own? Count in your mobile phones, your mp3 players, your cameras, your tablets, and your laptops. The chances are that you have more than two gadgets in your arsenal, and you know very well just how inconvenient it can be to have to figure out where the appropriate chargers are at any given time. You may have a specific location at home where you keep them, but all those cables and connectors can still be a pain – not to mention the issues when you are on the road.

That’s where universal chargers come in handy, as they do what it says on the tin – charge various gadgets, doing away with the need for a single different charger for each device. In 2009, the International Telecommunications Union, or ITU, specified standards for a universal charger. While the word universal has been tacked on to the term, the standards still left out provisions for certain gadgets. If you think about it, you can’t really blame them. With all the gadgets available in the market, it might just be difficult to cover everything in a single device.

This week, though, the ITU has taken a big step forward by changing the specifications for the universal charger. This time around, it just might be truly universal!

The charger is now supposed to be used for various mobile phones PLUS mp3 and mp4 players, as well as cameras. Not only that, but other devices such as tablet computers, wireless headphones, GPS units, and other gadgets will also be taken into consideration.

This change is being made possible by equipping the universal charger with a power adaptor, a detachable cable with both USB and micro-USB connectors. More than being used for charging, this device can also be used for transferring data.

Simple yet brilliant, but there is still one thing that’s bothering me – what about those manufacturers who insist on using their own patented connectors for their devices? Can’t they be “asked” to conform to standard connectors as well?

The iTurtle

March 28, 2011 by Jim

Ah, now isn’t this just cute!  The iTurtle seems to trump it’s predecessor the iDog in cuteness, would you agree.  This is not an MP3 player though, nor is it a docking station for your iPods. No, no, no.  Like iDog this is a speaker system.  Plug an audio source into it and you can watch the iTutle bob and swing its head to the beat.

Now what I like most are the light effects.  It’s not just the bobbin’ and swayin’ head that’s good, you get lights too… through iTurtles shell.

Cost?  Kinda’ affordable at US$19.99 right here. Manufactured by Tiger Electronics.

I-TURTLE communicates his moods through musical riffs, movement and tons of blinking light patterns on his shell! He even whines when he’s hungry for more music or attention! I-TURTLE loves to move and groove to your music, but watch out – flick its tail, and it won’t be happy! He may have a little shell, but he has a big sound!

Mint Hard: Awesome Ice Cream Portable External HDD

November 30, 2010 by Ade

hard_img002

Guys, check out the Mint Hard.

Okay, I shall avoid all sorts of juvenile jokes with this weirdly-named external HDD. Instead, I shall ask you to check out how awesome it looks. Come on, it looks like a frakkin’ ice cream bar.

You might think that I’m just the sort of guy who gets easily distracted by shiny objects and all (partially tru- oh look a pink unicorn), let’s just look at it. It’s an ice cream bar. That can hold 120GB. And its handle isn’t really a handle at all; it’s actually an 8GB flash drive!

How rad is that?

X-Power 1, another iPhone battery add-on, once more badly executed

July 29, 2009 by franky

x-power-1

More than with any other 3G smartphone, iPhone users love to bitch and complain about the battery performance of their Jesus Phone. It must be said that the battery life isn’t too great but I am not aware of any powerful smart phone which lasts longer than a day if used in as often online, as music player and feed reader as I do with my iPhone.
Fact is, we are Apple users and just love to complain about these 3% imperfections of our expensively paid devices.

The X-Power 1 is another attempt at helping out iPhone users and offering them a better battery life on the road. And it’s one more failure.
