If you live in India you might both like and hate this news. It looks like Microsoft had made it known that they are going to launch the Xbox 360 in India by this October. Microsoft will likely be the first “next-generation” console available in India, and thus they hope to capture the majority of the market share.

The downside of all this is the price, at 19,990 rupees the Xbox 360 Core console translates over to $440 USD. A little steep don’t you think?

Microsoft’s brilliant marketing plan is to lure customers by creating World Cup tie-ins, as on June 9th, the day the World Cup starts, Microsoft will offer a 10% discount to those who pre-order the console to receive it on the October release date.
