x-power-1

More than with any other 3G smartphone, iPhone users love to bitch and complain about the battery performance of their Jesus Phone. It must be said that the battery life isn’t too great but I am not aware of any powerful smart phone which lasts longer than a day if used in as often online, as music player and feed reader as I do with my iPhone.
Fact is, we are Apple users and just love to complain about these 3% imperfections of our expensively paid devices.

The X-Power 1 is another attempt at helping out iPhone users and offering them a better battery life on the road. And it’s one more failure.

There are many different battery packs for the iPhone and what most manage well is that they completely ruin the looks of my slickly designed phone. The X-Power 1 promises to be an exception in this matter.

And it is.

The X-Power 1 is a replacement USB charger/docking cable for the iPhone with added rechargeable battery. As can be seen the battery is integrated in the cable. XMultiple promises additional talk time up to 4.5 hours on 3G and 9 hours on 2G, as well as up to 5.4 hours additional on Wi-Fi and improved standby time up to 270 hours.

Great specs for only $30 but what I don’t get is how and when to use this cable? When I connect my iPhone with the USB cable to my MacBook it will charge and sync. Why do I need an extra battery rechargeable battery here? Or do they really expect me to add the cable while I’m in a phone call and am running out of battery? I always wanted a phone with a cable dangling at it. Looks sexy!
