GamePro.com has been lucky enough to sit down and play the Xbox 360 version of PREY, a first person shooter using the Doom 3 engine. The game look absolutely amazing from the screen shots I have seen, and the game has a fair bit of history, as it was originally a 3D Realms title.
Though 3D Realms is no longer directly developing the title, Chris Rhinehart of Human Head made it clear that 3D Realms is still loosely overseeing its development. As in the original game, Prey’s protagonist is of Native American descent. In keeping with the original premise, the story still revolves around a massive alien invasion. Finally, the much-publicized portal technology–now running on heavily modified Doom 3 tech–is intact and more mind-bending than ever.
We recently had a rare opportunity to see Prey in action, both on the Xbox 360 and the PC. We’re pleased to report that Prey looked surprisingly slick and polished.
The article spans three pages, and I highly recommend you sit through all three as there is plenty of material to drool over. I am highly excited about this game.
