PlayStation 3 Chat Pad

Sony has announced, at Leipzig today, their latest addition to the PlayStation 3 accessory family. The PlayStation 3 Chat Pad. It’s actually a “snap on” accessory to the ordinary PS3 game controller, it’s due for consumer release by the end of November. Ah, you see, it’s nearing Christmas and Sony would like to expand sales even more. I bet you a number of games will soon spring out that uses the Chat Pad extensively.

This tiny keypad will allow players to “chat”… as if they’re not near for a whisper! Quite interesting to note is that the Chat Pad is actually a blue tooth device. Aaaahhhh… and I would venture a guess that it will connect to other blue tooth devices as well… there’s the rub? Oh, and there’s a separate battery for the Chat Pad, good news is it can be recharged thru a USB port.
