It is marketing at its finest with Microsoft, especially when it comes to the Asian market. They are going to keep their Xbox 360 Lounge open in Tokyo despite the lackluster sales results they have had in Japan. No doubt Microsoft is hoping that they can’t be ignored forever, and it is probably cheap for them to keep the building open longer if it helps sell even a few hundred more of their consoles.
Now this is not forever as it will only remain open until February 12th, but that is past its scheduled shut-down date this month. It is unknown if this will have any effect at all, but you can’t fault Microsoft from trying, and you can’t say they were not ready to spend money to market their machine.
