A 15 year old in Salem, VA has recited Pi to 8,784 digits from memory. Why would the young Gaurav Rajav do this? Well, his Das said he would get him an Xbox 360, and while Gaurav was able to earn his Xbox 360, he was still two thousand numbers short from the family goal of 10,790 digits to set a new North America record.
His Dad told him that he could have the 360, but no games to go with it. Gaurav declined saying that he didn’t derserve the console. What kind of messed up world is this where kids are memorizing Pi for a gaming console. I just had to keep my room clean, and bug my parents… (I didn’t end up keeping my room clean..but I still got my NES.)
