So today I went back to Futureshop for another go at the Xbox 360. This time I was able to play Call of Duty 2, and King Kong. I was horrible at playing both games, but they were so much fun. They looked even better than when I played Kameo the week before, but more on that later.
King Kong was pretty cool, but I found that the level available that I tried was a little dark, and hard to see the path needed to move to the next sequence of events.
Call of Duty 2 is a game that I will probably buy. As soon as I was dropped off in the middle of a city battle, I was entertained and interested. I was not very good at the game, but it was fun, and the details were great. I almost could have sworn I in the game, running around, avoiding being shot, like a mouse being chased by a cat. Every turn lead to a new challenge. A very fun designed game.
I went up to the front to ask about reserving a 360 for me, only to find they are not taking any more pre-orders or even reservations for people as they are only getting around 50 units in for their first shipment and they have taken more than that in pre-orders.
I also asked why the games looked a little better. The graphics could not have been updated in the span of a week could they? He told me it was because someone had set up the console to use regular definition, and one of the computer techs realized it, and changed it over to high definition output. Amazing how much of a difference that made.
