I4U News says that the most likely reason the new Xbox 360’s could be crashing is because of cooling issues.
Possibly there is an overheating problem… Maybe some consoles are placed in a poorly ventilated place, or maybe there is an issue with some of the consoles or the power supplies. The discussions are growing, but it does not look like an epidemic just yet.
This makes sense, but should not account for the growing number of people having this problem, and it leads me to wonder what Microsoft’s testing routine is. Surely they test one in every thousand or ten thousand consoles, and if so, they should have atleast seen these reported problems once or twice, enough to extrapolate how many would have similar problems in the real world, leading to some sort of last minute fix or warning…Oh wait… It’s Microsoft, I forgot. I am sure we will see Xbox 360 patches soon. Hopefully it is just the power brick that would need recalling, but I believe it will have something to do with faulty fans, or problems with the “liquid” cooling system they used.
