Microsoft Updates Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility

March 29, 2006 by David

There are some updates coming down the pipe for backwards compatibility that I am sure many people will like as the update adds some more Tom Clancy games.

All three Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell games: Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow have been added as well as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Black Arrow, as well as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon 2 and Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike.

Only a fraction of the Xbox games are on the list still, and while it is growing, I find this latest update kinda small. I know they probably have a fair bit of work to do to get it done right, but I want to see more on that list, and now…

Recently, Microsoft issued a statement in response to rumors that the company would be winding down its support for backward compatibility on the Xbox 360: “The backward compatibility updates are not on hold, and we’re working to deliver them as soon as possible.”
