It looks like even a perfect Xbox 360 can quickly turn into a dead Xbox 360, as what was experienced by 360Insider.net writer Justin Nolan.
I had been one of the “lucky” ones with a “perfect” Xbox 360 since launch. Well, that changed today when during Geometry Wars video output cut-off and I was met with the infamous 3 flashing red lights. I unplug everything, pop out the hard drive, hook power and video back up… same thing. I’m immediately greeted with flashing red. A good 3 hours later, surely enough time to cool down, nothing has changed.
I just got off the phone with tech support. They were as nice and helpful as you’ve heard. I’ll have a prepaid box by Tuesday, and I should have my Xbox 360 back 3 to 5 business days after I send it in. Given my bad weekend timing, it could be a good week and a half before my next game of Geo Wars.
I hope everything works out for him, and Microsoft fixes him up good. And if you have the ability to get a warranty on your machine, you might just want to.
