Activision CEO Robert Kotick announced the company’s plans for the Xbox 360, stating that Activision plan to release 40 games for the Xbox 360 in 2006.
He also spoke about current generation software prices in 2006, telling the audience, “You’re likely to see price declines on the older-generation software.”
No doubt with developers moving to develop Xbox 360 games, we will begin to see a rapid decline in new titles for the original Xbox, and this makes sense, as it was what happened when the PS2 came out. The up side of course is that prices on last gen games will slide. Kotick believes the same thing will happen this time around, saying that he’s “a pretty big believer that history is likely to repeat itself.”
