Mac the Force Be With You …

May 24, 2006 by Jackzooki

Engadget has two new ways to screw your spanking new MacBook or MacBook Pro. Here are two nifty ways to use the MacBook’s motion sensor, the SmackBook and the MacSaber.

The SmackBook, as demonstrated in the video, allows you to switch users by smacking the side of your precious MacBook. If you don’t think that’s enough potential endangerment of your MacBook, you might be interested in MacSaber, which makes light saber noises when you swing your computer around, and light saber clashes when you swing it really hard.

Here’s the SmackBook in action.

And here’s the MacSaber.

That’s pretty violent! I wouldn’t want to subject a MacBook to that kind of abuse. Motion sensors are built-in for purposes of securing the laptop in the event of a fall. Okay, using them for fun is great, too.

Hey, this may even beat the Nintendo Wii’s doppler effect in terms of cool factor.
