An electronic cigarette is merely an electronic device trying to imitate a standard cigarette and deliver the same effect but without polluting the area around you. But how can it do that? The smoke, the sensation, and the style all mimic the traditional puff tool. Yet, it is not a cigarette. It doesn’t even need a lighter.
Cartridge
Also called the “mouthpiece,” this is the tip of an electronic cigarette where the user inhales smoke from. But it’s more than just that.
It also contains the liquid solution, which is vaporized to create that smoke effect. So when the liquid runs out, no smoke will be created. When it does, it can either be refilled or replaced. The liquid solution is available in hundreds of different flavors including those that imitate the taste of traditional cigarette brands.
Atomizer Chamber
This is the heating element of an electronic cigarette. It has filaments that burn the liquid solution, turning it to smoke-like vapor. Like the solution, filaments are consumable as they burn out after some time, needing regular and expensive replacement.
Battery Chamber
Most electronic cigarettes are powered-up with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which can last for up to three days. At the end of the chamber is the LED light that illuminates whenever the user inhales vapor.
How does it work
When the user inhales from the tip of the electronic cigarette’s mouthpiece, battery will light up the LED and power up the atomizer. This, in turn, will burn some of the liquid solution and create vapor. The user inhales this smoke-like vapor and puffs that out.
With its clever design, electronic cigarette can fool anyone into thinking that it is the real thing.
