Nintendo announces massive Autumn/Winter software collection

Whether you’re a Wii fanatic or prefer pocket-sized fun with the DS, you’re likely to find something worth getting excited about as Nintendo today announces its Autumn/Winter collection of games and other software titles, hitting stores from tomorrow, through Christmas and into the new year.

First up, Wii Fit Plus will hit European stores at the end of October, offering a range of new exercise features including personalised yoga and strength training routines, lifestyle routines, calorimeter, and a range of new training regimes.

On 20th November, Super Mario Bros arrives on Wii, featuring a fully-fledged adventure that up to four people can play simultaneously.

Sony announces PS3 motion controller coming Spring 2010

ps3Not wanting to be overshadowed by Microsoft’s announcement that Project Natal is gaining support from a number of major games manufacturers, Sony has declared that its motion controller for the PS3 console will be available early next year.

Linking up to a PlayStation Eye camera, the system allows face, voice and body movement recognition in order to control games in a completely different way.

This motion controller (which doesn’t have an official name yet) is equipped with two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer that can detect the controller’s angle and movement held in the user’s hand.

Sennheiser announces high end HD 380 Pro monitor headphones

For those who are serious about their music, such as sound engineers, musicians and producers, a decent pair of extended frequency headphones is a necessary addition.

Sennheiser has pushed out its HD 380 Pro closed back headphones use high-power neodymium iron magnets, offering a wide 8-27,000Hz frequency response, detailed sound reproduction, sound pressure level up to 110dB, and an attenuation of external noise up to 32dB.

Capture your extreme underwater action on the Predator VX360 video camera

Rugged, wearable video cameras aren’t particularly new, but the macho naming, bright design and feature set of the Predator VX360 caught my eye (as did the price tag).

The VX360 is described as “a totally rugged system”, being waterproof to a depth of three metres and able to withstand impact with rock and the abrasive effects of seawater.

LG announces its first Android cellphone: LG-GW620

It doesn’t have a sexy name, though you know it’s from LG — the LG-GW620 is the first handset from the Korean company to embrace the Android open source mobile operating system.

Featuring three inches of obligatory touch screen plus a slide out QWERTY keyboard, there’s something very “Nokia N Series” about the design.

Apple intros new iPod nano, touch, iTunes 9

Last night Apple introduced a range of new iPods plus a revamped iTunes 9.

Firstly, the iPod nano has been updated to include a larger 2.2-inch color display, a VGA video camera, FM radio with live pause feature and a built in pedometer, yet it’s still packed into the same compact body size.

PURE announces bevy of new home audio products

Digital radio manufacturer PURE has announced five new home audio systems: the Siesta Flow, Elan II, Chronos iDock Series II, Chronos CD Series II, and the Siesta iDock.

The Siesta Flow, retailing at around £100, is PURE’s most affordable Internet-connected radio, and has features which make it an ideal bedside alarm.

Bored by the same old alarm call every morning? The Siesta Flow has 365 different alarm tones, all downloaded from the PURE Lounge. Of course, there’s all the types of radio you’re likely to want built in as well: DAB, FM and Internet radio.

Logitech shows off new Wii music game controllers

Logitech has today announced two new music game controllers designed for use with music games on the Nintendo Wii.

The Wireless Guitar Controller for Wii is constructed with a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets, so it both looks and feels more authentic.

It features a noise-dampening design and fret buttons, plus a touch-sensitive slider on the fret board.

1. UK’s T-Mobile and Orange mobile operators may merge

Two of Britain’s mobile network operators have announced their intention to merge into a single company, which would then become the largest in the UK.

If the T-Mobile and Orange deal is allowed to continue, it could be signed in November. The new company would then control over one-third of the UK market.
