Gadzooki
GadzookiMatt just had a great post about essential tools for Apples. To bad I don’t use one.
I don’t have an apple, so here is my list of 6 Essential Technologies I use and I am cheap so I don’t want to actually pay anything. Because well I am starting a company for a quarter.
1. Text Editing: Notepad. Never had any problems with this one. It’s a oldie but a goodie. There are plenty of alternatives out there but this just works.
2. Browsing: The Performancing Flock
Yes thats right. I use Flock and I use Performancing’s plugin. It works great for all my browser and blogging needs. I am developing my own blogging plugin that allows me to score hot chicks and get girls numbers. But until I release that, this is going to have to cut it. Thanks Performancing and Flock.
3. Web Publishing: Wordpress
Wordpress is a great free tool. Yes Its’ Free. And its extremely powerful. I even run it on my desktop and use it to take notes and write my new book. So it absolutely does everything I want it to.
4. Word Processing: Writely and OpenOffice
Open Office is the powerful desktop alternative to Microsoft Office. It works great and allows me to create PDFs on the fly.Im happy. Often times I am unaway from home and so I have an idea and I don’t have access to word processing. So why not use a web based service like Writely. It works so well and does everything I need it to. So why buy Office. It’s fading fast any how. And its not free.
5. Web Server: WAMP
I run WAMP on my computer because it just works. Plus it allows me to run some great programs like Wordpress right on my desktop. In fact I have a real time real look backup of all my blogs right on my laptop. Just in case I lose my entire blog network. Ala Paul Short.
