When you are part of a good project in Microsoft, they would be smart to spread the talent out wider to work on many projects, and that is exactly what Microsoft has done with their re-organization of their entire department, putting Xbox 360 executives in key placements throughout the Entertainment Division.

Microsoft’s been planning this for months and now it’s official – a new re-organization of the entire entertainment division has been unveiled. Todd Bishop was first to talk about it on his Microsoft Blog. Robbie Bach, formerly chief Xbox officer, will now head up the entire Entertainment and Devices Division. Under him, Peter Moore has been promoted to lead the Interactive Entertainment Business, and handle the day-to-day business of Xbox and Games for Windows divisions.

J Allard will head up a new division, called the “Experiences and Design for Gaming and Entertainment Group,” where he will take “some of his key learnings from Xbox and applying this to the core division in the spirit of integration and making sure there’s a unified vision,” according to a Microsoft spokesperson. Microsoft also stresses that J Allard is not “shifting his focus away from Xbox. Xbox is clearly a really critical piece of the entertainment device division.”
