Kotaku had information up of Best Buy’s release strategy for the Xbox 360, and not long after were told to take it down or face legal action. No doubt if you really wanted to read it all, someone has the information copied somewhere else, but you won’t find it on Kotaku anymore, as they complied with Best Buy, and took the information down.

Apparently, Best Buy wasn’t that delighted with the 26-page document leaked to us and the stories we wrote off it and they slapped us with what amounted to a cease-and-desist order claiming we were posting a copyrighted document.

In the long run Gawker Inc. decided it probably wasn’t worth fighting over since the posts had already been up for nearly a week (which means it’s as old as the Bible in Blog-dating) and most everyone who cared to has already read it. In other words, we caved and have deleted the following posts from our servers:

Freedom of the press? Yeah…right.
