GadzookiEverybody Wants To Be iPod-Compatible
Posted by Sophia as Apple, Cool Stuff, Furniture, Gadgets, Hardware and Gadget Features, Music, Portable Media Players, iPodIt seems the most unlikely products want to be iPod-compatible. That’s how powerful the Apple iPod brand has become: it’s now a selling point for companies wanting a little boost in their sales.
Here are just some of the examples of products that have made it a point to please the MP3 player giant:
Pause: iPod-Compatible Bed
The Pause by Design Mobel is the world’s first bed that lets you play your iPod with it. They also call it the “world’s most comfortable iPod Dock”.
See also: Lomme, another iPod-friendly bed with a futuristic feel.
iQ: iPod-Compatible Piano System
The iQ by PianoDisc is a system that lets your piano play the melody of the song playing on the iPod. (It can also play songs from CDs/DVDs or iTunes, record songs you play from the piano, and integrate with a home theater system.)
See also: The Concerto Table by LoveGrove & Repucci, a multi-purpose table with the “elegant curvature” of a grand piano and plays music from your iPod.
GIPod200: iPod-Compatible Grill
The GIPod200 by George Foreman is an indoor/outdoor electric grill and roaster that plays music from your iPod, too.

iCarta: iPod-Compatible Tissue Holder
The iCarta Stereo Dock for iPod with Bath Tissue Holder by Aetch Flash Technology lets you listen to your iPod while relieving yourself. It even has a logo that proudly says “made for iPod”.
See also: iCarta Plus “with built-in rechargeable battery”, whatever that means!
I actually like the Lomme and The Concerto Table because they look great and were born from a great idea or two. The iPod support is just a bonus!

The CrunchPad is dead. Now what?
It’s dead, Jim.
And now, news of the CrunchPad’s demise has reached the blogosphere (twice-over, I must say), we’re here to examine the post-mortem. It was an ambitious project: an internet tablet meant to sell cheap. Everybody was waiting for it with bated breath, but it never came.

Sony reveals PlayStation Move
I have to admit, my mind is officially blown. Sony finally revealed its new PlayStation 3 motion controller at GDC 2010 in San Francisco, and boy is it looking good.

18|May|2007That just shows how everybody loves music.
iPod is such a great innovation (hence it became so famous in such a short time) that it made mp3 players, walkmans, etc obsolete.
I like the iQ: iPod compatible Piano, seems very useful for a pianist. Although personally, some of the iPod compatible inventions up there are too… weird.

18|May|2007Yes, and the iPod influenced other products to mimic its look. When people do that, you it’s gotta be good!
The iQ is interesting to have. Though I hope this doesn’t shoo people away from taking piano lessons.

21|May|2007As much as Apple hit the nail on the head with the Ipod, I’d still much rather have the Creative Zen Vision M that I’ve been on about for AGES. It is a better product with more support – however Creative just didn’t get the marketing and product right quickly enough – so everyone in this sector now is fighting a losing battle.
