Christmas NEVER GET List Part 1

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Gadgets

If I cannot get a refund out of this, then I might as well write about it.

If we have our Christmas must-have list, there should be a Christmas NEVER GET list. I shall start with my latest tech purchase disaster.

I had gotten these pretty A4Tech noise-reduction earphones because they were a steal at around $8.20. I had come across V-Moda’s earphones when a friend asked me if she should get it, and the ones my friend wanted were at least a hundred dollars! The cheapest ones on Amazon.com were $24.99. A totally far cry from $8.20, right?

So when I saw these cuties at a local appliance store, of course I snapped them up instantly!

I trusted A4Tech’s mice, so I guess their earphones would be fine too, right?

The first one I had returned because I thought that I had wrecked the right earbud after a couple of days of using it. When I got to the store, I actually had to argue to get a new one, because it was perfectly fine when they tried it. When I got home, new earphones were still not as loud on the right ear. Till I saw that the balance on my Mac’s speaker volume slider was leaning to the left. Okay, my bad.

But imagine my outrage when only a day later, I happened to sit on the wire, and when I twisted in my bed, I had pulled the wire too far. When I checked the sound, surprise, surprise: no longer stable.

But still, it was usable. So I learned to live with it. But today, it was unstable beyond comfort so I decided to try to fix it. When I tugged at the plug… Whoa!

This was the wonderful, amazing, stupefying result.

And so, I realized that while A4Tech mice are perfect and innovative (I just love their mice with the 2x click function), the earphones really just.. Needs improvement to be a lady about the entire matter. But mind you, I’m mentally cursing like a sailor over these headphones!

But seriously, it won’t be eating up the entire Part 1 of my Christmas NEVER GET list for nothing!
