Technology has a way of intruding on to even the most benign items. Inventors and crazy guys would think of the weirdest ways to incorporate something high tech into anything they can set their sights on. Would you believe that even the classic rubber duckie — that eternal symbol of childhood and innocence and one of the simplest of toys — has now been “technologized”. How? Well, with a remote controlled rubber duck.

The Remote Control Rubber Duck is available online at play.com. This nifty little bathroom toy has a list price of 26 US dollars and runs on just two AA batteries. It also has a charging capability. Just charge this baby, er, duckie up for five minutes and this little toy can be played with for up to 15 minutes. That’s just enough time to entertain your little toddler in the bath and have a problem-free bathtime for once.  The price for this toy is worth it when you consider that it can really make bathtimes with children easier. I’d buy four if it can calm my son!
