NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe gets working on its combos in preparation for the next instalment in the ultimate fighting franchise TEKKEN 6, scheduled for release in Europe through its distribution partnership with Infogrames Entertainment in autumn 2009 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Developed by NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc., TEKKEN 6 brings the blockbuster fighting series onto multiple platforms for the first time in the history of the TEKKEN franchise. TEKKEN sets the standard for fighting games with its stunning realism and uncompromising quality, and TEKKEN 6 promises to propel the series to greater heights with major gameplay enhancements and the largest character roster ever seen in the TEKKEN series.

Rendered in vivid high definition detail, TEKKEN 6 heralds the dawn of a new era as a new King of the Iron Fist Tournament opens for business, with intense gameplay modes, new features and environments that guarantee blistering fight action, lightning-paced brawls and bone-crunching punch-ups.

TEKKEN 6 sees the return of many familiar faces while also introducing a host of new characters resulting in the largest line-up the series has ever seen. Each fighter is equipped with their own deadly techniques, moves and attack combinations to make TEKKEN 6 the most challenging King of the Iron Fist Tournament yet. A character customization feature will further intensify the fighting action and multiplayer gameplay modes let players take their fighters online to compete for world domination.

Boasting an illustrious 14 year legacy, TEKKEN is among the most popular and well-known gaming brands in the world with the entire franchise selling more than 33 million units to date. TEKKEN 6 is a must-have for any fan of console arcade fighting.

I for one am extremely excited about the legacy of Tekken continuing, as it has been one of my favourite beat-em-up titles since the release of the original way back on the Playstation. More information and screenshots to follow as I receive them.

Well, there’s a reason I’m posting this article here in Gadzooki. Part of it is that you guys do your traveling to tech shows and conventions. When you do, you most probably will be lugging your age-old suitcases with you half-full and coming home with it as heavy with all the convention freebies filling up the other half. Us geeks need to have a tech solution to help us tug our loot from hotel, to the taxi, to the airport, thru customs, thru stairs, stairs and more stairs… sigh.

Here’s a concept design for a suitcase that’s looks like a “tank”. Climbing UP suitcase designed by Woo Moonhyung is right on the dot to design a suitcase that can tread up any surface known to man… well, just like a tank. Not too sure though if this will reach the assembly lines but this does sure put up a beacon for future suitcase designs, doesn’t it.

Instead of using a single set of wheels or casters on the bottom, the Climbing UP suitcase features a set of free-wheeling rubber belt tracks that cover the entire body of the suitcase. The design not only allows you to easily pull a suitcase up a flight of stairs, but the continuous track means you can also pull the suitcase from the front or back. And since it’s not a motorized system, there’s minimal added weight or size.

I hope this design sees the production lines soon… with a little touch of colors maybe?

No it’s not the official Apple logo, if you’re the fanboy you are you’d notice that the leaf isn’t pointing the right way. Ha! You thought it did, did you? Here’s where you can get one on-line, but be fast… it will soon vanish with the millions of fanboys out to get some too.

Oh, forgot to mention that the shirt has an audio-sensor built in. This makes the design illuminate with the ambient noise around it. So if you’re in a club… well, you’re a target for a brawl! LOL. Nah, you’d be the coolest dancin’ penguin with the cool shirt. :)

More than 1.5 million people were drawn to “Gears of War 2” on Xbox LIVE during its first weekend, logging over 15 million gameplay hours and driving a new record for concurrent users. Now, the online experience has become even more explosive with the release of the Combustible Map Pack, a collection of three new maps for “Gears of War 2” available now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 MS Points.

Debuted during the SPIKE TV Video Game Awards on Dec. 14, where “Gears of War 2” took home the Best Shooter and Best Xbox 360 Game awards, Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games unveiled exclusive footage from the Combustible Map Pack with Marisa Miller (Sports Illustrated’s 2008 Swimsuit Issue cover model) and “Gears of War 2’s” Augustus “Cole Train” Cole (played by Lester Speight) presenting the first look at the new maps.

The Combustible Map Pack unleashes three new multiplayer maps: Flood, Gold Rush and Fuel Station.

• Flood is a very tight map that’s made extra snug when the environmental hazard of Imulsion begins creeping up around the edges. As the playing field closes in, the firefight will intensify as combat is forced to the center of the map. Teams skilled at flanking their opponents will have a powerful edge.

• Gold Rush takes place in an old Imulsion refinery that now serves as a hotly contested battleground. Players must survive heavy crossfire as they infiltrate the factory and navigate multiple tiers. Breakable glass allows for a clean shot at those who make a dash for the Longshot rifle while bolder players make their run for the heavy weapon. In the right hands, the Mortar can be devastating on this map, so keep those smoke grenades armed as the concussive effect comes in very handy.

• Fuel Station is situated in a desolate area marked by an abandoned fossil fuel station. The team that secures and controls the station is likely to be the side that wins the match. An especially strategic location on this map is the rooftop, as there are only two points of entry – the main elevator and a staircase on the back side of the building. Heavy weaponry is situated right in front, which presents a high risk to reward ratio in this level. Lugging the Mulcher around, deploying it and revving it up can keep an entire team at bay, and unleashing hell from the rooftops is always an excellent tactic.

All of the multiplayer maps in the Combustible Map Pack are playable in the highly popular, five player co-op Horde mode.

“Gears of War 2” is the best-selling console game in the US (November NPD data) and has been named the ‘best Xbox 360 game ever’ by GamePro magazine. “Gears of War 2” is available exclusively on Xbox 360 and is rated “18’’ by the BBFC.

The Guinness Book of World Records has tagged the Spider 2GX as the most powerful hand-held laser in the world. I’ve seen videos of this gadget pop a balloon, light a match stick, light a candle, and hey… even burn leather (not thru and thru though thank goodness!).

The Spyder II GX is a military-grade laser gadget encased in a lightweight 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum shell. The laser body is Military Type III black anodized to protect against scratches. It’s water resistant and well… fit for the rough play or plans you may have. It’s a great tool for laser tag games or whatever you may find fun to do in the dark.

It’s also designed to operate under the most demanding of conditions, and is the first portable laser equipped with thermoelectric cooling. With a 100% duty cycle, the Spyder™ II GX has the most burning and beam visibility capabilities Wicked Lasers has to offer. Powered by a single 18650 high capacity lithium battery, the Spyder II™ GX is visible for hundreds of miles, and is a glimpse into the future of green laser technology.

You are advised to use eye protection like protective sunglasses when using this product. A pair is sold for $29.99 as an added order when you get the Spyder II GX. The Spyder II GX though is a whopping $1,699.99! You’ve got to be a serious user to get one of these babies.

Yeah I know the company name isn’t really a big bang with the audio industry but Cali Lewis of GeekBrief.tv seem to be pretty well pleased with their new system offering. The <a href=”http://jamo.com/Default.aspx?ID=6509&M=Shop&PID=19152&ProductID=18072″>804 Surround Sound System</a> by <a href=”http://www.jamo.com”>Jamo</a> (new theater audio system) can be mounted horizontally as a center speaker or vertically as a chic black pillar emitting really good sound.

The speaker finish is housed in black leather and high gloss aluminum, kinda perfect for the bachelor or bachelorette in you, eh? I’m sure your friends will remember this visual marvel. They can be mounted as a three piece combo around your wall-mounted flat screen display.

Each speaker seems to be a complete set-up of each own. They have tweeters, 4 1/2 midrange speakers and 2 speakers for base. The price for this setup is $449 when they’re released in January. Ughhh…. too bad they missed the holiday rush, otherwise you’d see a lot of bachelors walking around and smiling from ear to ear! To celebrate a unique anniversary – it is 40 years since Mazda launched its first rotary-powered car, the Mazda Cosmo Sport back in 1967 – Mazda is releasing a strictly limited number of its latest rotary model, the Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition. Just 400 examples of this very special four-seat coupe model will be available in the UK, priced at £24,595 (on-the-road), each identified by its own unique number.

Based on a special concept car first presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, the Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition adds components to the chassis and body shell, and special exterior and interior features, which create a unique sports car and one that is a fine tribute to Mazda’s rotary engine history. Mazda is Britain’s favourite sports car brand, supplying one in every five sports cars sold in the UK, so this latest model is sure to be in high demand.

“The fact that the Mazda RX-8 can truly seat four adults in comfort is a real and distinct advantage over the competition, and demand for it remains strong with more than 2,800 units registered so far this year,” comments Rob Lindley, managing director for Mazda UK. “Since its launch in 2003, the Mazda RX-8 has changed the face of the sports car market in the UK. It brings real motoring excitement to everyday family life and thanks to the sporty coupé’s unique practicality, has carved a whole new segment in the market. Now, the new Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates this model’s immense appeal.”

The unique exterior features of the Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition include a choice of two exclusive exterior colors – a newly-developed Metropolitan Grey Mica that gives a strong touch of sophistication; and a truly distinctive Crystal White Pearlescent that will make this a ‘stand-out’ car on Britain’s roads.

Enhancing the Limited Edition’s look of sporty sophistication are bespoke 10-spoke, 18-inch diameter alloy wheels, an aerodynamic rear wing, new blue-light front fog lamps and a 40th Anniversary badge on each front wing.

Special Trim and Cockpit Enhancements
Inside, the Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition features seats trimmed in black leather with stone Alcantara® centre sections. For an extra touch of quality, the steering wheel is black leather – to match the seats – with stone stitching to match the seat centre section colour. The handbrake and gear lever are trimmed in the same black leather with stone stitching and the lever top features a white centre insert. Luxury carpet mats display the limited edition logo and bespoke stainless-steel scuff plates incorporate a 40th Anniversary Rotary Engine legend together with each cars’ unique number – starting at 001/400.

Uprated Sports Suspension
With its ‘front-midship’ engine layout, rear-wheel drive, near perfect 50/50, front/rear weight distribution and the outstanding torsional rigidity of its four-door bodyshell, the Mazda RX-8 is one of the very best handling cars in its class.

For the Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition, the regular Mazda RX-8’s handling is further enhanced by the fitting of uprated Bilstein dampers all around. To reduce NVH and improve refinement, as well as improve upon an already impressive ride, the front suspension cross members are filled with polyurethane foam for an even quieter ride over harsh surfaces. These changes, together with the generous tyre specification – 225/45 R18 front and rear – deliver even more Zoom-Zoom driving dynamics.

The drivetrain features the twin-rotor High Power 231ps RENESIS engine mated to a short shifting six-speed manual transmission. The Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition accelerates from standing to 62mph in just 6.4 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 146mph.

Comprehensive Equipment as Standard
Every Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Limited Edition also comes with the generous range of equipment that is standard on all high power Mazda RX-8 models. The specification includes Xenon headlights, headlight washers, aluminium pedals, climate control air-conditioning, heated front seats, central locking, a Bose premium audio system with nine speakers and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser.

Award-winning and popular
Since the Mazda Cosmo Sport went on sale on 30 May 1967, Mazda has manufactured more than 2.0 million rotary-engined vehicles. After the launch of the Cosmo Sport, Mazda built and sold a series of now-legendary rotary-powered RE vehicles like the Familia Rotary Coupe, Savanna, RX-7 and Eunos Cosmo.

This tradition culminated in 2003 with the launch of Mazda’s sports car icon, the Mazda RX-8, which features the revolutionary RENESIS rotary engine under the bonnet, a product of 40 years of continuous work and meticulous research and development. This engine won the International Engine of the Year award in 2003 along with three other category awards in both 2003 and 2004. Today, Mazda is the only carmaker in the world to mass produce rotary engine vehicles.

If you want a coupe with a difference that simply loves to rev, then look no further than the RX-8. It really is a very special car indeed.

If you’d like to tone down your carbon footprint a little lower next year then you just may want to consider getting a crank-up MP3 player. I was floored to see this “green inspired” gadget by Travor Baylis. Need to listen to your favorite tune, wind up the Eco Media Player before hitting that play button.

“My original windup radio pioneered a new eco technology that is as relevant and cutting edge today as it was 16 years ago. A new generation has grown up with many electronic devices that were inconceivable when I created my radio. Now we have developed a range of products that combine the best of these modern ideas with the freedom and energy efficiency of windup technology.
Welcome to the next generation.” - Trevor Baylis OBE

Priced at $179 (4GB) and $209 (8GB), much like your usual MP3 players by Apple, Sony Microsoft and Creative. The only difference I see though is that this one MP3 player with a built in flashlight. Kinda gives you an idea that this maybe a camping gadget, right?

Don’t worry about winding it up too many times though. When you want a break from winding the Eco Media Player does have an alternate Internal Lithium Ion battery which can be recharged via USB port, or the winding mechanism itself. You can get a maximum play time of 20 Hours on each charge.

You know, I’ve been looking long and hard what accessory I need for my digital camera. I thought of a slicker bag which offered more “space-age” protection OR a tripod (which I also needed just in case I’d need a steadier shot). I’ve been choosing which to get first as there isn’t enough money-for-gadgets laying around… good thing I discovered one that puts both my needs together.

The Wrap-Up Tripod combines both functions, a case and a tripod all in one simple to use form. One, you get an easy-to-open case using velcro, and two, you can attach the case to the bottom of your digital camera and THAT gives it the tripod function. Cool eh? Now you don’t have to do about 5 steps to get you and your camera that perfect shot. Just unlock the velcro, flip the tripod stands down under and set that timer up baby!

The Wrap-Up Tripod is crafted in stretchy neoprene with a quick-release Velcro closure. Good quality, may I add for just a few bucks.

So far, I’ve only seen it available in a UK online site, right here. Sells for about $30 plus shipping and tax.

It’s the holiday season once again, and one tradition I cherish is gift giving (especially for one like me who has kids). Since my kids are just preschool-aged, though, most of our purchases are toys. But I know that a lot of folks are thinking of giving their loved ones gadgets this Christmas. An iPhone? Netbooks? Game consoles? You name it–retailers are facing the rush!

Now many of these gadgets surely need battery juice to power up. That’s why Gadzooki is raffling off five packs of Energizer Advanced Lithium batteries (4 cells each pack).

Most gadgets today would have their own battery packs, but a lot would still need the regular cells like the AA batteries we’re raffling off. Thinking of the gadgets I own, I would find the Energizer cells useful for my Canon 430EX speedlite (flash), my Canon point & shoot digicam, my television remote controls, and a host of others, not to mention the toys the kids will get this Christmas.

So if you want a chance to win the Gadzooki gift pack, leave a comment below, answering the question:

What gadget (or gadgets) will you be giving to your loved ones this Christmas?

We’ll select one at random by 11:59 p.m. December 21st, and ship the five packs of Energizer Advanced Lithium cells for free. Only one comment per participant, please! And don’t forget to include your email address in the email field so we can contact you if you win!
