Toshiba announces Blu-ray-enabled Satellite P500 laptop PC

Now that Toshiba has embraced Blu-ray it makes sense for the high definition disc format to be added into some of its notebook computers.

The Satellite P500 is Toshiba’s first notebook PC with a built-in Blu-ray rewriter drive for creation and playback of high definition discs.

Additionally, playback of standard definition content is enhanced using Resolution+ technology.

Its multimedia credentials include an 18.4-inch high definition TruBrite LCD screen, built-in Harman Kardon speakers, HDMI output with REGZA-Link, energy efficient construction and an Apple-esque multi-touch trackpad.

This top-of-the-range laptop will be available from October, pricing to be confirmed.
