Gadzooki
GadzookiGuess where I’m working: right here, right now?
On a train! A train! In the third-world metro!
I don’t know if anyone ever said that it could not be done. But heck, I am here, typing away. I’ve always wanted to try to be able to type on the commuter train before, and today, I’ve been able to bring that crazy dream into reality!
Call it perverse, but I think it’s like illicit sex you know.. Using your machine in precarious/unlikely places? Weird analogy, true, but don’t we geeks treat our machines like our life partners?
Speaking of life partners, my favorite geeky YouTube superstar put up a new Mac-lovin’ video, check it out through this link guys!
Now back to my desire to use my machine in the weirdest of places. I don’t know if I have an unconscious need to show off. I do not feel particularly proud of my banged-up Macbook, you know. It’s just my all-in-one. No, it doesn’t spill out Ramen like HappySlip/Christine Gambito’s pretty lil Powerbook G4, but my baby Sayuri feeds me, in a way. It is through her that I get to eat my favorite gut fodder like Muesli. Heheh.
I have been able to use her in the bathroom, constantly, on the train station, in the train, yay, and even in the red-light district of Makati, haha!
Don’t get me wrong. I hung out at that red-light district because one computer shop there has obscenely fast Internet. :p
Now for proof that I have been able to use it on the train, check out the pictures below. Click the pic to lead to my train station video. The in-train blogging and the train station Vlogging are separate incidents, by the way.
And this brings me to my gripe. Sayuri my Macbook has gotten too heavy to lug around the metro because I carry other items in the bag. And let’s face it, 5lbs for a lappie is too heavy.
Which is the reason why my current salivation list includes the ASUS eeePC. Check out its sheer diminutive beauty:
But nothing would beat my overwhelming joy when the rumored Aluminum Ultraportable Macbooks would be rolled out. *Apple Fangurl crossing her fingers too tightly*
Ciao!

The 3G iPhone
I’ve had 3G on my Nokia N95 enabled since I got it – which is about a month or two ago now. I was thus surprised to learn that the iPhone didn’t include this much faster way to connect to the Internet. Consequently, I wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve Jobs big announcement turned [...]
