I am not a big fan of some of the games that are being released on multiple consoles right now, as it usually means the Xbox 360 is getting the short end of the stick, and Gamepro might agree with me on that, as they review Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires. With the game appearing on both the Xbox 360 and PS2, you'd think that the next-gen visuals would blow away the current-gen version. Well, this actually only ends up being partially correct. While the Xbox 360 version does look pretty nice, with improved character models and particle effects for Musou attacks, the game still suffers from a heavy case of generic environments and repetitive enemy models. Enemies still look virtually ...

Xboxic reviews Oblivion, which was recently released for the Xbox 360, and they make it sound like the game to own. When you start you need to create a character. You can customize literally everything, from obvious things like the character’s class (Warrior, Mage etc.) and race to less common things like face and birth sign. Especially the face customization sets the bar for the level of detail found throughout the whole game: we’re not just talking eye color here, but inner brow level, cheek width, hair length and angle of the eyes. To round it all off, your chosen age is realistically factored into the looks of the character. For a score, they give The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a ...

1UP.com has posted a preview of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which gives a first look at the game after twenty hours of play time. About 20 hours into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and this sucker is just getting started. Where most videogames would be wrapping things up, I'm just starting to get a handle on the story and my character. And that's just fine. No, that's just great. Because Oblivion is a game with an embarrassment of riches (including a beefy 50 achievements to earn in the Xbox 360 version). The world is enormous and packed with things to do, the use-based character development and skill system is insanely rich and full of choices, and there are more core ...

Pocket-lint looks at GRAW, and gives it a decent review. They liked the graphics, amount of action, and the ability to command vehicles. They did not really like is that it was not as tactical as some might have wanted, and that you need a big television to see all the HUD elements. While the Xbox360 still suffers from a lack of good solid titles, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon is hoping to put an end to that on the tactical squad based first person shooter side, but has the game got what it takes to win through? Based across a sprawling Mexico City landscape the game takes the Ghost Recon series to a new level. Graphics are impressively sharp, sound movie-like and ...

Far Cry Instincts Predator It looks like 360 Monster was impressed with Far Cry Instincts Predator, but only a few points over average, as the title only earned a seven out of ten, though graphics and audio managed to squeak out an eight. All in all Farcry Instincts Predator is a mixed bag. Multiplayer is solid, fun and varied due to the mapmaker, vehicles and lots of guns. Singleplayer is great looking, vast in size and will immerse the player in the game world but has not really changed much at all since last year, which will disappoint many and may dissuade them from not picking up the game on launch (31st March). For those ...

IGN reviews Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, and they give it an outstanding 9.2 out of 10. It looks like if you like first person shooters, you can't pass up on this game, and even if you don't like FPS's, you should grab this game. Having spent the last weekend playing it non-stop again, I've reached many of the same conclusions I arrived at before and a few new ones. GRAW, as we've come to call it, is a first-rate game, one that not only looks next gen, but plays like it. The list of impressive additions is long and detailed, just as the feature list is, but the core elements to this game emerge from the single-player campaign's integrated presentation and ...

Mad Catz Xbox 360 MC2 Racing WheelShowing that some of their products work really well, and coming out before a racing wheel from Microsoft, the MadCatz Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel was recently reviewed by TeamXbox, and they gave it an eight point eight out of ten, and an Editor's choice sticker, not too bad for a third party product. The MadCatz MC2 Racing Wheel is a nice wheel that does everything as advertised. The pedals are the nicest set you’ll find south of an Enzo, with just the right amount of tension and those cool vector hinges mentioned above. The gear lever has an ultra-stiff spring, micro-switches for a positive feel, and ...

ztgamedomain looks at the key boxing game to have for the Xbox 360, or is that the only boxing game for the Xbox 360? Without any competition from other similar titles it can be hard to judge a game, but Fight Night is just a fun experience, and manages to earn itself an eight out of a possible ten on their review scale. Of course, the thing you’re going to be paying most attention to is the warriors in the ring, and they certainly do not disappoint. Fighters are incredibly well modeled, and animate beautifully. Perhaps the most impressive thing about them is the expression that their incredibly articulate faces show off while slamming home a huge punch, or taking ...

Club Skill looks at the MadCatz headset for the Xbox 360. It ends up with a rating of two out of a possible five, so this is probably not something you'd want to plug into your Xbox 360. Atleast, we know for sure now... The great thing about the Official 360 Headset is the little 'mute' button and volume on your headset jack; this made life very easy indeed. The new MadCatz headset doesn’t have either, granted the wire is long and very flexible, but the only way to change the headset's volume is going through your own personal menus. And if you want to mute your voice, you're going to have to disconnect that headset.

Ghost Recon: AW Hands-On

Posted by David as Games, Review
Someone over at ClubSkill.com managed to give GRAW (Ghost Recon: Advanced Warrior) a hands on look, that lucky guy... Graphically the game looked stunning, it doesn’t actually look like the videos you see on IGN or Gamespot mainly because they have had filters added to them so that they enhance the games looks, but I actually think it looked far better without the filters from the videos. Jaggies are nowhere to be seen and the actual character looks pretty much perfect, you can of course change you character’s looks but for some reason we were all this Rambo style red neck. The explosions are monumental; there is nothing better than watching a car explode with the opposing team member being ...
