Sony has announced, at Leipzig today, their latest addition to the PlayStation 3 accessory family.  The PlayStation 3 Chat Pad.  It's actually a "snap on" accessory to the ordinary PS3 game controller, it's due for consumer release by the end of November.  Ah, you see, it's nearing Christmas and Sony would like to expand sales even more.  I bet you a number of games will soon spring out that uses the Chat Pad extensively. This tiny keypad will allow players to "chat"... as if they're not near for a whisper! :)  Quite interesting to note is that the Chat Pad is actually a blue tooth device.  Aaaahhhh... and I would venture a guess that it ...

Gaming is well known for its sequels; in fact one could very easily argue that it’s the glue that binds the industry together. What do you mean, I hear you ask? Well, simply put, for as long as games have been about, there’s been a sequel to the last big hit (hell, there’s even been sequels to games that haven’t been hits). 2008 is of course no exception to the rule – you could say, why break the habit of a lifetime? Pacman after all had Ms Pacman to follow. This probably makes me sound quite bitter, but I’m not. Some of my favourite games historically (including Super Metroid, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Forza Motorsport ...

Here are list of games which I like that are said to be released by 2008, so better watch up for this games. They may or may not be considered gaming gems, but for me it's the gold. These are the games that would really prevent me from outside contact to human beings. I prefer inanimate objects to people and yes, I love my laptop more than my girlfriend. So if I have these games, I would never leave my house and I won't stop playing these games. Devil May Cry 4 GTA IV: Grand Theft Auto IV Resident Evil 5 Fallout 3 Ninja Gaiden 2 Splinter Cell Conviction Fable 2 Halo Wars

Recently, Sony has courted controversy (to a certain degree) due to featuring Manchester Cathedral in a violent video game - the fairly well received Resistance: Fall of Man. Sony's Playstation game uses the historic church as a scene in which violent gunplay takes place. Originally, spokespeople for the church asked for the game to be withdrawn from sale - Sony however did not accept this request, but it did apologise for using the graphics within the game. The Very Reverend Rogers Govender had the following to say regarding the use of Manchester Cathedral: "We do forgive Sony for what they have done, even though they still believe they have done nothing wrong. In an industry that is breaking new frontiers, it ...

sixaxis.jpgOne of the best examples of corporate white lies is the Playstation 3 Sixaxis controller. When the official controller was announced Sony played up its so-called Sixaxis feature -- which is basically a motion sensing capability similar to the revolutionary Nintendo Wiimote. Some people thought it was an obvious cribbing of the Nintendo Wii's unique selling point but stolen idea or not the concept was quite cool. What made people raise their eyebrows though was the very obvious absence of a rumble feature. According to Sony, the rumble feature would negatively affect the sensitive controls of the Sixaxis -- which is a strange claim given that the Wiimote also has a rumble feature. Gaming ...

ps3.jpg I have made it no secret that, out of the 3 'this gen' consoles, I believe the PS3 to have the most potential.  This is for reasons of power, capability and having a wireless control pad.  However, it seems that each of the three consoles - PS3, Xbox360 and Wii - have reasons to doubt them.  I have covered the latter two here already, so lets move on to the PS3. One of the most obvious that things that hits you about the PS3 is the lack of rumble.  Now that Sony has settled a suit with Immersion there shouldn't be a problem.  But there is.  All the consoles ...

I was never a huge Simpsons fan, but that thing up there warms my heart like nothing I’ve ever seen before. No, not even the shiny PS3 when it was officially unveiled May of last year. Roughly a month ago, the Xbox 360 Elite saw light of day with HDMI (which practically nobody in third world Philippines uses today) and a beefier 120 GB hard drive to let you get all the Live Arcade games there are, and there will ever be.

If you haven’t been following the rumor mill lately, new 65-nm processors are on the line and should pave the way for less noisy and

The other day I was waiting in line for my Wii, and I missed out. But I did buy a PS3 in a "me against the world" moment. There were plenty Playstation 3s in stock, but of course no Nintendo Wiis. I've been obsessing about the Wii now for over a month. But I haven't been willing to buy one on eBay. I don't like the idea of paying more than twice the system's value, especially when it reveals a major defect in my character (no patience!). In any case, at this point, I'm now resorting to the "just wait until February method". But let's get back to the story. I went for a Wii and ...

Nintendo has officially hailed the Wii as a success, reports the BBC, as figures suggest that more than 600,000 consoles have been sold. Red Steel remains the most popular game pick, with Zelda not far behind. So, this means plenty of people (in the US at least) are playing on next gen machines. The PS3 sold out, as did the Wii. The 360 is still going reasonably well one year in. What now? Well, as I have highlighted recently, not a single game on any of the next gen machines has been a 'must buy'. Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of ...

PS3Almost six years from the time the PlayStation 2 was released to the world, its successor is finally here. Midnight of November 17, electronic stores all over the United States started selling the PlayStation 3. Similar to what has happened to the launch dates of other consoles even a few years back the more enterprising and diehard people started lining up in front of the stores a couple of days before the actual launch date and camped out in order to ensure that they will be getting a PS3 come launch day. Sony has already announced a few months ago that it will only be able to release limited numbers of the PlayStation 3 because ...

The 3G iPhone

I’ve had 3G on my Nokia N95 enabled since I got it – which is about a month or two ago now. I was thus surprised to learn that the iPhone didn’t include this much faster way to connect to the Internet. Consequently, I wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve Jobs big announcement turned [...]
