Okay, this isn't really top-of-the-line enough or something I filed under the "OMG I WANT" category, but I find this cellphone to be clever enough I think it warrants an entry here in gadzooki. giant_button_cell_phone This phone has a rather large keypad, making it ideal for the elderly who refuses to let old age get in the way of collecting gadgets. Okay, the name is a bit uninspired (6380 Senior Mobile Phone) but we're talking about a phone here with a small 128×60 screen, for crying out loud. It's not supposed to be inspired. senior_phone_sos My favorite feature so far has got to be the ...

It looks like FCC’s confidentiality agreement has been lifted off the Eee Keyboard. Now we all know many things about this much-awaited nettop (is this a nettop?) including specs, innards and exterior pictures, user manual and more. The Eee Keyboard will feature a 5-inch touchscreen display (800×480) on the right side (which is exactly the feature I actually want to try out). On the other hand, it rocks the usual N270 Intel Atom processor and 1GB RAM standard in most netbooks. Also, it only has 16 or 32GB flash storage; boo. Other specs would be the Broadcom AV-VD905 video decoder, Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, 4-cell battery, HDMI/VGA outputs, USB ports and interestingly UWB (Ultra-Wideband). The UWB receiver packs in ...

20070815_infoakihabara_01There is nothing like entering a shopping mall solely dedicated to electronics and electrical appliances. Even the smell of the air is different, and you can’t help but feel giddy with all the possibilities in front of you. If this is your idea of heaven, then the best place to go is Akihabara in Tokyo. Also known as “Electric Town,” this area of Tokyo is crammed to the seams with hundreds of shops selling electronic gadgets and electrical appliances. Akihabara has made a reputation for itself, both locally and internationally. Indeed, it is one of the most frequented destinations in Tokyo. More than gadgets, however, Akihabara is ...

For those who took the plunge and became an early adopter for the 5800 XM, here's a bit of bad news. First, the cheaper but not exactly lower-end version of this phone, the 5530, is almost coming out. And now Nokia announced that a Navigator Edition of the 5800 is coming out pretty soon. It still uses the same specs as the older model, but this phone has been made to replace your Personal Navigation Assistant. The phone comes with lifetime voice-guided drive and walk navigation licenses and accessories like car charger and car-mount kit. The phone will come out this quarter for around $400.

I find this amazing. The Contortionist is a bike that can be folded into its entire circumference. The entire mechanism somehow folds in between its 24-inch wheels. And it leaves a couple of handles so you can drag the thing around. From The Gadget Blog: The inventor? A 24-year-old student from Battersea, London. Dominic Hargreaves was apparently unsatisfied with his folding bike—which collapsed on him—so he set out to design his own, with an emphasis on hardiness. The mechanical reality that makes this gadget work? The front whell, engineered to rotate and reposition to make compactness achievable. I guess the only way you can make it any more ...

hard_img002 Guys, check out the Mint Hard. Okay, I shall avoid all sorts of juvenile jokes with this weirdly-named external HDD. Instead, I shall ask you to check out how awesome it looks. Come on, it looks like a frakkin' ice cream bar. You might think that I'm just the sort of guy who gets easily distracted by shiny objects and all (partially tru- oh look a pink unicorn), let's just look at it. It's an ice cream bar. That can hold 120GB. And its handle isn't really a handle at all; it's actually an 8GB flash drive! How rad is that?

hiFather’s Day is just around the corner – have you gotten your dad or your husband a gift yet? If you are still looking for a cool gift for this eventful day in the life of a father, then here is one suggestion for you: the Hi-Beam Glove Lite from Bossco International. It is the perfect gadget for a guy who likes tinkering around the house and loves nifty gadgets as well. These gloves look much like normal utility gloves in form but are way cooler in design. The best part is that the gloves have these little rotating lights attached onto them, making them perfect for housework ...

supermaticYou’ve probably heard about it by now – cigarettes and other “sin” vices are being taxed more and more in various states across the country. This is not surprising as legislators have always had these products and activities in their sights. What is really crazy is the fact that in some places, cigarette prices can go as high as $10 per pack! It is no wonder that smokers are looking for alternatives to manufactured cigarettes. One interesting gadget that just might prove to be the smoker’s savior: the Premier Supermatic II cigarette injector. This gadget is already being used by a considerable number of people to ...

Envue by Burnes

Posted by Jim as Cool Stuff
home1jpg Well... it's memorial day weekend and where do I go... Walmart! LOL. My mom's birthday is fast approaching and so I thought there must be a sale going on so might as well take advantage of that. Turns out that I was right, there is a Memorial Day weekend sale at Walmart. Grabbed Envue by Burnes for mom. She's not a techie but I'm hoping that this small gadget would introduce her to our wonderful world. My plan... stuff it with old photos that I'm sure she's missing. Haven't loaded it up yet, but I'm sure with the 2GB memory card I'll use it'll surely fill it ...

Sony reveals PlayStation Move

I have to admit, my mind is officially blown. Sony finally revealed its new PlayStation 3 motion controller at GDC 2010 in San Francisco, and boy is it looking good.

Dubbed the Playstation Move, the advanced motion controls on this baby makes it supposedly more accurate than that other motion controller from that little-known console from [...]
