sleep-suit-1 I'm guessing that burning five candles at both ends at the same time thing is doing wonders for your productivity and finances, but your sleeping habits have taken a major hit and - wait, what is a sleeping habit? So. You need to sleep. And you need to sleep now. In the middle of the park. Fashion, safety, and propriety be damned. What you need is the sleep suit. Wait, what? It is inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s practice of Dymaxion Sleeping, which involves four 30-minute naps over a period of 24 hours, and the material requirements for such conditions. Architecturally, the very close relationship between the human body and the suit acts ...

Capture I've rarely encountered this situation, but I'm sure a couple of you guys have. Let's say you were stuck in a place - it might be a desert, in the middle of the ocean, or even in your neighbor's barbecue party - and you need to make a call right away; it's a life and death situation. What can I say, your neighbor throws the most boring parties and you need to call somebody to rescue you. The thing is, your cellphone's batteries are just about to die and you don't have a charger with you. Heck, even if you had a charger you don't see a wall outlet and that ...

Skiff-Reader1-650x539 Yes, you read the title right: flexible. It's because when I want to read the online copy of let's say Neil Gaiman's Good Omens, I want to bend my reader like I do a real-life newspaper. Let's see the Kindle 2 do that. But kidding aside, the Skiff Reader looks like a great e-reader. Just a quick look at its specs would reveal an amazing 11.5″ screen with a resolution of 1200×1600 pixels! That resolution is big enough to display a full page of The New York Times on the screen. Also, that NYT page? It contains Skiff-only ads to keep them running. I hate seeing ads, actually, but ...

the-damned-bulletproof-handkerchief-21 For once, I'm going to stop posting about stuff I'm lusting for badly, and I'm going to write about something so laughable I just had to share this with you guys. This gadget (I don't even know if this is a gadget, but whatever) falls squarely under the "WTF is this category." Okay, so let's say you're a James Bond-esque secret agent off to a dangerous mission. You're wearing the obligatory three-piece suit and in the middle of a poker match whose outcome will decide the fate of the free world, your opponent (let's just assume that he bleeds out of his tearducts) brings out a gun and shoots you point-blank in ...

bt-keyboard Okay, one of the things I really, really hate about netbooks -especially the early ones- is that their keyboards are probably the worst things on them. Currently, the new ones have almost full-sized keyboards that'll more or less accommodate large touch-typing hands. Heh, with my Eee PC 701, I've been reduced to hunting and pecking for the correct keys. Don't even get me started on mobile phones and PDAs. Even QWERTY mobile phone keypads are a pain to use long-term. Nothing beats a 100% full-sized keyboard. Speaking of which, a new keyboard that just passed the FCC guidelines is making a minor buzz right now. Bluetooth keyboards aren't really something ...

wink-16gb1 If you really, really, really need to keep your data discrete up to the point that a normal-sized USB flash drive won't work for you, a company called Wink has announced that they've created the smallest 16GB thumb drive yet. As you can see from the picture, it's smaller than a dice. And don't you go doubting that this is possible. I've seen a 32GB drive that's a bit bigger than this one, so anything's possible. So if you're a spy seeking to sneak out really sensitive and hush-hush data, or if you just really like to keep things small, this is for you. Just don't lose it. Specifications The delicate electronics are encapsulated ...

Okay, this isn't really top-of-the-line enough or something I filed under the "OMG I WANT" category, but I find this cellphone to be clever enough I think it warrants an entry here in gadzooki. giant_button_cell_phone This phone has a rather large keypad, making it ideal for the elderly who refuses to let old age get in the way of collecting gadgets. Okay, the name is a bit uninspired (6380 Senior Mobile Phone) but we're talking about a phone here with a small 128×60 screen, for crying out loud. It's not supposed to be inspired. senior_phone_sos My favorite feature so far has got to be the ...

It looks like FCC’s confidentiality agreement has been lifted off the Eee Keyboard. Now we all know many things about this much-awaited nettop (is this a nettop?) including specs, innards and exterior pictures, user manual and more. The Eee Keyboard will feature a 5-inch touchscreen display (800×480) on the right side (which is exactly the feature I actually want to try out). On the other hand, it rocks the usual N270 Intel Atom processor and 1GB RAM standard in most netbooks. Also, it only has 16 or 32GB flash storage; boo. Other specs would be the Broadcom AV-VD905 video decoder, Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, 4-cell battery, HDMI/VGA outputs, USB ports and interestingly UWB (Ultra-Wideband). The UWB receiver packs in ...

20070815_infoakihabara_01There is nothing like entering a shopping mall solely dedicated to electronics and electrical appliances. Even the smell of the air is different, and you can’t help but feel giddy with all the possibilities in front of you. If this is your idea of heaven, then the best place to go is Akihabara in Tokyo. Also known as “Electric Town,” this area of Tokyo is crammed to the seams with hundreds of shops selling electronic gadgets and electrical appliances. Akihabara has made a reputation for itself, both locally and internationally. Indeed, it is one of the most frequented destinations in Tokyo. More than gadgets, however, Akihabara is ...

For those who took the plunge and became an early adopter for the 5800 XM, here's a bit of bad news. First, the cheaper but not exactly lower-end version of this phone, the 5530, is almost coming out. And now Nokia announced that a Navigator Edition of the 5800 is coming out pretty soon. It still uses the same specs as the older model, but this phone has been made to replace your Personal Navigation Assistant. The phone comes with lifetime voice-guided drive and walk navigation licenses and accessories like car charger and car-mount kit. The phone will come out this quarter for around $400.

Sony reveals PlayStation Move

I have to admit, my mind is officially blown. Sony finally revealed its new PlayStation 3 motion controller at GDC 2010 in San Francisco, and boy is it looking good.

Dubbed the Playstation Move, the advanced motion controls on this baby makes it supposedly more accurate than that other motion controller from that little-known console from [...]
