So just the other day, we were inundated with news about Apple renting a venue for January regarding a possible Apple Tablet launch. But of course renting a venue and showing off the product are two different things. For all we know, it might just actually be another iPod launch.
But now we're getting some rumors that are actually pointing the way to an Apple Tablet launch. It now looks like Apple is preparing apps for the (as of yet nonexistent) gadget. According to Silicone Alley Insider:
Apple is preparing to show off a new, larger mobile device with a higher resolution display in January -- probably a version of the ...

The CrunchPad is dead. Now what?
Posted by Ade as Accessories, Computers, Editorial, Hardware, Hardware and Gadget Features
It's dead, Jim.
And now, news of the CrunchPad's demise has reached the blogosphere (twice-over, I must say), we're here to examine the post-mortem. It was an ambitious project: an internet tablet meant to sell cheap. Everybody was waiting for it with bated breath, but it never came.

Apple has yet again upgraded its line of all-in-one iMacs, this time offering video-friendly 16:9 displays capable of displaying high definition video.

You can choose from either a 21.5-inch or 27-inch widescreen LED-backlit display, capable of at least a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution (up to 2,560 x 1,440), with up to a 3.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or the new 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 — a first for Apple.

Now that Toshiba has embraced Blu-ray it makes sense for the high definition disc format to be added into some of its notebook computers.

Dell to compete with Mac Mini: pictures leaked
Posted by Franky as Computers
Pictures of a possible 'Dell Mini' desktop PC and direct competitor for the Mac Mini have leaked on tinarwebz. Although this machine will always be handicapped because of Windows as OS and not Mac OS, it looks really sexy. Except for the name: Dell Inspiron Zino HD?
The Zino HD comes with HDMI port and at least 6 USB connections. There also seems to be a card reader at the front. Sexy looks but sadly my 24" desktop monitor is rather old fashioned and only has VGA and DVI-D connecters. The Dell Inspiron Zino doesn't seem to offer the stackable options we know from the Mac Mini either. I love how you can stack Mac Mini, Apple Airport and external harddrive to form one massive heater!

The Acer Predator Aspire G Is Flaming HOT
Posted by Geezer as Computers, Desktops, Gaming, Gaming Features
Acer had never been one of my favorite brands of computers but this new release has caught my attention. Their latest gaming computer is dubbed the Acer Predator Aspire G, and it really is something else. At first glance, you might not be that impressed. It really has the same look as the earlier version – all orangey and tough.
First impressions do not always mean everything, though, you should know about that. Inside the tough casing, the hardware is the perfect set up for the ultimate gaming machine. These are the specifications, as is published in The Akihabara News:
For their flagship model, the ASG7710-A41, ...

The Asus “kitchen computer”
Posted by Jim as Computers
I was intrigued by a Yahoo Tech News Review regarding the Asus Eee Top PC. It says AsusTek Computer Inc. is now eyeing to conquer the second-least computer-friendly room, the kitchen. Continuing my thought, I asked myself, what is the most-least computer-friendly room in a house? The restroom? The garage? The closet? (chuckles)
I am believing the Asus Eee Top PC is being aimed at kitchen use because of it's "free-ness". The entire PC occupies a fourth of the counter-top size a microwave would get. No keyboards, no mouse to operate it. Everything is "touch sensitive". Good one, I think.
But because this IS the kitchen, I could imagine the Asus Eee Top PC screen ...

CellPhones…CellPhones Everywhere…

Everybody's sure to have a mobile device today for it has revolutionized the way we communicate with each other. It has created a niche in popular society, responsible for words such as SMS, Texting, Twitter, iReports and many more as testament to our reliance on the said technological wonder. Some love them some hate them but you'd have to give credit that without it, we would still be living in an age where phones had wires.
Cellular phones are one of the most prolific, intrusive and indispensable technologies we have and they pack a lot of technology in so small ...

Hello Kitty Laptops
Posted by Jim as Computers
Man, my sister should see this. I bet she'd head on over to this website by Dec 2 to get her own Hello Kitty Laptops from Japan. Or probably request one of her frequent flying friends to swing by Japan to pick her a unit.
The Hello Kitty notebook is based on Epson’s Endeavor NJ2150. Buyers can choose between a combo model ($1,200) and a so-called super-multi version ($1,500). Both versions are available in two different designs.
The combo model comes with an Intel Celeron 575 CPU (2GHz), 1GB memory, an 80GB HDD, a 15.4-inch TFT WXGA screen (1280×800 resolution), a DVD drive, WiFi, Windows Vista and, of course, a number of super-cute pre-installed Hello ...

I was a little surprised when I saw this pic at BoingBoing, but I must also tell you that what followed after that was a wide smile. Like this... :-) It seems that nobody can limit creativity these days. The picture you're viewing above is an actual PC which has the case of an actual Microwave. Pretty cool I must say.
The LCD cover (which serves as the PC's screen) was modified to snap perfectly into the microwave's case. Under the hood reveals a "crammed-up" area that wasn't just meant for perfect component cooling like what the standard PC cases offers. This may mean you cannot use this for a long time, unless you ...

Sony reveals PlayStation Move
I have to admit, my mind is officially blown. Sony finally revealed its new PlayStation 3 motion controller at GDC 2010 in San Francisco, and boy is it looking good.
Dubbed the Playstation Move, the advanced motion controls on this baby makes it supposedly more accurate than that other motion controller from that little-known console from [...]
