If you are a pastor, a church staffer, or just someone who zealously wants to uphold The Great Commission, it may do you good to be tech-savvy. Tech now connects people, and the computer and the Internet are great tools to enhance a Christian’s ministry. With quite a schedule to run after, a pastor might not have time to rifle through tomes of different Bible versions. Yes, the Word of God is consistently life-giving, but the richness of His Word is given more dimensions when different translations are used. Like in Rick Warren’s book Purpose-Driven Life, the shades of the meaning of God’s Word are captured in a richer, more beautiful light when different translations are used.

I cannot believe what I just did. Yes, kiddies, I popped off one of the keys of my Macbook.

As I said on the previous article, I am churning out articles to kill lunch time, on company computers. :p So while everone else gets fed, I will stay here, chasing after my backlogs. So for this post, we shall discuss the things that I find funny as I work on a PC once again.

I don’t know what’s worse, a broken heart due to a misplaced relationship, or a broken heart because the new MacBook Air is out and DummyGeekGurl can’t get one... Yet. Either case, my heart is making somersaults, because both events happened within 10 minutes of each other. But relationship woes aside, I’d like to welcome me back. :p I was gone for a while there because my church was having its annual corporate fast. Now I’m back, and I have news. Just when I finished writing down my ex’s latest series of messages in my "transition diary," I got a yahoo messenger message that the MacBook Air is out. Yes, kiddies, the rumors are true. Apple has a new ultraportable, and her name is MacBook Air.

I was just lurking around on PhilMug.ph today and I saw a thread on the speculations of who will succeed Steve Jobs. I came across the name Jonathan Ive one time here on Gadzooki, I think, or was that on ZDNet, and when they said that he was the one who was behind all these sexy breakthroughs in computer and gadget designs, I did realize that the speculations of his succeeding the Apple Inc. throne are not too far off the mark.

It’s the last day of December, and it’s time for the ultimate salivation, in my book.

Three days straight of nothing but phones. After drooling on those luxury phones yesterday, I might as well drool over some more phones. But this time, I want something I can actually target to buy for myself. Something that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy, and if some pickpocket thinks to pick it out of my pocket, I won’t need to cry for all the hard work I put in just to buy it. The Nokia 3500 was something I actually considered, because it packed all those features in under $200. A phone with features like those used to cost more than $200, and I think it’s really a good buy.

It seriously had me at the gold detail. I told you, I’m no longer on my cellphone obsession, but as I was looking for Nokia 3500 pictures, I bumped into this beauty. And seriously, if I were Beyoncé, I would have wanted to represent the Armani phone instead of the F300, though admittedly, the F300 is also pretty sexy. I guess the luxurious gold set in black was what got me drooling for this Armani phone.

Great phone, Great price. ;)

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Cellphones, Mobility
I am so not into cellular phones lately, but I had come across this phone up on Multiply.com. I just thought you’d like to know that this relatively affordable phone has pretty kick-butt features for its price. I searched for it on Google Products, and the first page results yielded a range from $174.49 at the lowest and $229 at the [believably] highest. There was a result from Detek.biz that seemed fishy because it was way out of the results’ price range at $888, so I ignored it. For a phone that has: 2 MP, 1600x1200 pixels, video camera Java MIDP 2.0 MP3/MP4/AAC/AAC+ player Stereo FM radio Bluetooth HSCSD GPRS At that price, and with the funky black and colored trim design, ...

The 3G iPhone

I’ve had 3G on my Nokia N95 enabled since I got it – which is about a month or two ago now. I was thus surprised to learn that the iPhone didn’t include this much faster way to connect to the Internet. Consequently, I wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve Jobs big announcement turned [...]

GPS in 3D: Navigon 7200T GPS Navigator

I’ve had my fair share of traveling around the USA with my trusty NextStar GPS system.  I never leave home without it, Chicago has too many freeways, turn pikes and fly overs for me to deal with.  When I need to get from point A to point B in Chicago land and the [...]
