Have you ever been in love? I have. And the moment I stepped out of that room, I felt so giddy, and there was a silly grin on my face, and all I could blabber was, “Have you ever been in love?” I walked through the streets in a daze, and I knew that I was virtually afloat, because I know have found my match.

Lessons We Can Learn from Steve Jobs

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Apple, Mac

Before I go on to the meat of my story, Lessons We Can Learn from Steve Jobs, I’d like to share something funny that I found as I was sifting through fodder for this article: According to this ZDNet article, one of the bullet points of the How to Design a Great User Experience manual for Windows Vista Developers says:

“Don’t be annoying.”

And I like Jason D. O'Grady & David Morgenstern’s retort even better:

"What OS are these guys using again?"

:D Okay, enough fanboy/fangurl humor, on to the heart of the matter.

Apple Inc: Style Borne of Vision

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Apple, Mac

When it comes to gadgets and products, Apple seems to be synonymous with “sleek” and “stylish.” In fact, Apple Inc.’s products had become so synonymous with style that everything from the iPod to the Macbook Pro to even the Mac Pro, had become a status symbol in itself.

Sweet Dreams are Made of… eeePCs

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Cool Stuff

You’d know a person’s innermost desires when you look into the content of their dreams, according to Sigmund Freud. A few weeks ago, I awoke with a jolt to ex-roommate nagging me to wake up because she was heading for work. I was at her place, napping to keep her company, as it was her first night there. My dream was that...

It’s amazing what you can do with a D-Ring Binder. Back in those days when I was a call center lackey agent and we had materials from the learning-slash-training program, I would bring home three big D-Ring Binders, and these had been used as... A laptop stand for my Sayuri.

Has Friendster Gone Crazy?!

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Cool Stuff

If you’ve noticed lately, Friendster seems to be upping the ante to catch up to Facebook by adding those application widgets. I hadn’t really been paying attention to Friendster, because it’s just soo Web 1.5, PLUS, Multiply had become more my thing, because almost all my churchmates hang out there. But after the major migration to Facebook, and with people denouncing Friendster even on Friendster’s own Bulletin Boards in favor of Facebook, Friendster seems to have made an about-face.

My PhotoBucket.com Annoyance

Posted by DummyGeekGurl as Random Thoughts

I think I’m collecting pet peeves per encounter, and I know one new blogging pet peeve for me now: Photobucket’s new interface. Back in the “days of old,” you can upload any ole photo in Photobucket, and that’s that. Nowadays, you have to jump through hoops in order to just finish uploading one picture. One picture!

I was, at "two points" in my existence, a call center lackey agent and as lackeys agents go, we are barred from viewing "fun" sites. So, to kill time and maximize productivity, I am writing my time away, while everyone else goes out to get fatter. I just lost mondo poundage, and I have no intentions of regaining those. Now while I learned new things, like the software our team supports, I learned one gizmo that has all the bang, wham, boom! Bells and whistles galore that I never explored before... And you'll never guess what it is... Okay! I hate being left hanging, so I am telling you now, so that I won't "Do unto others what I don't want others to do unto me." :p It's...

I had always abhorred spreadsheet software; more so basic accounting. But it was not until I had started to live a life of my own did I realize that there is a reason why accounting is a cornerstone in the corporate world. Yet even though I needed to account for my budget, payments schedules, and all that dizzying “adult stuff.” I never, ever, ever could take to Microsoft Excel. Not even OpenOffice Calc could make me feel better about blank cells that would need for me to figure out how to make them tally up my entries.

In Part 1 of my Tech and Christianity series, I talked about how important tech would be to a Christian’s ministry. Today, I will talk about what resources there are for the pastor and the lay Christian. First up, there are a myriad of articles on how to walk the Christian life. From Apologetics to devotionals, and even a series of webpages on how to deal with hard issues the Christian/Biblical way, there is no reason for a Christian to fall away from the faith if he is online. Not even the threat of pron could hurt a Christian’s walk, if he loves his God unequivocally. The resources are so many, I even stumbled upon an exposition on the book of Revelation (Chapter 12) that finally seems accurate and highly objective.

Silverlight – Is This Going To Be Web 3.0?

It’s not that often when a technology comes along that leaves me amazed. You know, the sort of thing when you look at it you think “wow, this is good. Not just good, but perhaps is going to make a difference to websites in a very real way in the near future”. [...]

The 3G iPhone

I’ve had 3G on my Nokia N95 enabled since I got it – which is about a month or two ago now. I was thus surprised to learn that the iPhone didn’t include this much faster way to connect to the Internet. Consequently, I wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve Jobs big announcement turned [...]

GTbyCITROËN: Where Real And Virtual Meet

It’s not often that a car is made especially for a game - which makes the GTbyCITROEN really rather special indeed. It is by no means a standard production car anyway, but this amazingly futuristic vehicle only exists in virtual space so far. It is going to be available for download for the [...]
