timelapse_gardenjpg You only see time-lapse videos in hi-tech movies, well now it's your turn. This garden video camera can literally watch your garden grow. What a perfect time as spring has just come about. Garden hobbyists would surely enjoy the labor they pour into the ground day in and out. Available right here for about US$150. It can focus as close as 20" away to illustrate petal growth or, with its wide 54" field of view, it can capture perennials as they grow to conceal your spent spring bulb foliage. How does it perform the time-lapse effect? Well... The camera takes a picture at one of six ...

evergreen_trackballjpg It's a little helpful gadget to have, a USB trackball has its value in tight areas where the table-top maybe too size-restrictive or totally prohibitive. While I'd imagine the trackpad would have been naturally your rescue device it just may not work in specific situation... like when you have your laptop on your lap and the trackpad is just too near your belly. Picture it now? Shanghai-based computer peripheral maker Evergreen sells this at about US$20. Notice that it comes equipped (as with the notebook mini mouse) with a retractable cable. Look closely and you'd see that the track ball is almost as small as a Blackberry ...

Intelliscanner

Posted by Jim as Accessories
9197_intelliscanner_minijpg Here's a great find from ThinkGeek today... the Mini Intelliscanner. This is a handy tool to have at home to help you keep track of your personal belongings. If most of the stuff you bought have barcodes already, this gadget can quickly scan at least 250 at a time (and on batteries) before downloading the data to a PC. It comes with software to help you organize those you scan into helpful lists/groups like "groceries", "gadgets" and others...

demy-sb1jpg Wow... this is such a darling gadget for the kitchen. This may be one of the ways you can get your lady friends or loved ones a bit of interest with gadgets. The Digital Recipe Reader is the first and only digital recipe reader in the market today. It sells for about "oh darn it"... something this good isn't in Menard's or Kohl's shelves just yet. BUT SOON... you can bet on it. The Demy sits comfortably and in style on your kitchen counter tops. It has wifi that can connect to an online website where you have the option to purchase all your ...

phonescreencleaningstickjpg Ah! Finally, something to give your touchscreen gadgets a decent rub. While I'm not a big fan of those "smudge-prone creatures" I do care about friends who seem to enjoy using them. The iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen Cleaning Kit seems to be one of those sensible ideas to keep your stuff in pristine shape. Cleaning them has never been this easy : Simply pop off this ultra sleek doodah’s cap to reveal a sponge tip that soaks up special cleaning fluid from an internal (refillable) reservoir. Then rub the tip over your gizmo to ‘wet clean’ its surface. Finally give it a buff using the included micro-fibre carry-pouch. Genius. ...

ThumbTacks™

Posted by Jim as Accessories, Apple
ithumbtackjpg This is a little odd now, is it? I could imagine people taking another look at you... some would probably sigh in disbelief at how you're punishing your iPod with a thumbtack. Oh well, it is kind of weird. ThumbTack is a mini microphone designed for the Nano 4G or Touch 2G. Designed by a company called SwitchEasy, this iPod mic takes the shape of a familiar everyday object, a common thumbtack. Check out their website and you'd see it available in several colors (white, black & red). You wouldn't believe the US$13 price tag for a ThumbTack! Isn't this something worthwhile to plug into your ...

Laptop yells S.O.S.

Posted by Jim as Software
talklapjpg This is perhaps one of the sensible solutions out there to avoid laptop theft. Sure.. the usual laptop chain would at times suffice, but there are clever thieves who would bring industrial wire cutters to clip away. What is there to do then when you're yards or miles away from your precious machine? A company called "Front Door" has developed a "nuisance" application called "Retreiver" for laptop owners. It works by emitting an irritating alarm with phrases like "help I'm a stolen laptop" or "help I was stolen, bring me back to my owner". This occurs every 30 minutes, just enough time interval to prevent ...
